What do you love and/or appreciate about the Piney Woods East Texas area?

Other than just a few months the weather here is perfect for outdoor activities. Even in winter it may be freezing today, but tomorrow it might be in the 50s or 60s. We have considered moving, but something just keeps us here.

I love hiking through the Big Thicket and the other State Parks.....beautiful.

One of the best compliments from one of my daughters: "Moma, you smell good...like dirt."

I love everything about it except the hottest part of summer! There's usually plenty of rain, so growing things is easy. There's a rich variety of plant and tree life - plenty of natural resources. I even love how the weather changes at a moment's notice!
