Good Moring Chickies~

I have been up since 4:30 am again, it is 24 degrees and I have the fire stoked and I have been thinking.

Yesterday I was going through my old SPG folder and I ran across an idea of something we were doing in the Coop a couple of years ago. A Scattered Prairie Gals Monthly Email News letter, what do you all think of us starting up one again?

I thought it would be fun to have it for recipes, pecial announcements, birthdays, questions, craft of the month, monthly quotes, interesting books we have read. Also we can promote any etsy or ebay shops we have, or like Carole she has a shop Fiber Junction in her town, we can let everyone know when we are having sales or adding new things. Also if we have a blog we can talk about our blogs, just anything we would want to add, the ideas are limitless.

Every month we will also have a contest for something, the first month we will give away a subcription to Mary Janes Magazine for anyone who does not have one. Let me know if you do not have a subscription and/or want one. Your name will go into my Mama Hen hat and I will announce the winner in the first sample email newsletter I will put out.

So, what do you think? Email me with ideas, questions anything at all and we will see if we can not get this off the ground.

I will put out the sample newsletter May 15th so the deadline for submissions is April 30th. If you do not make the monthly deadline then your topic will be rolled over to the next one.

My idea for a name for our Newsletter is our name "Scattered Prairie Gals", I think the one they did before was named the "Chickadee". Another one could be the "Coop" or asomething y'all might come up with.

This is what I have been thinking of this morning, I beleive we can have fun with this, what are your thoughts?

Hugs,
Debbie

Good Morning Debbie! Boy you are up early again! Hope you went to bed early to compensate :)!
I think it is a great idea! I'm not so good with coming up with things, but I sure like to read about other's ideas!
Hoping PT goes good for you today - sending lots of love to you!

Good Morning Everyone, this is going to be a fun project, but it is for everyone to add to whatever you would like. Whatever you think might be interesting to all the others here in the hen house. I did do some brain storming with Debbie about what she wants this newsletter to be. And we do want every ones input. So when you think of something you would like to share or you think it would be great info to share with us all, send it on over.
Yes Denise I have already decided that I would print mine out and keep in a folder so that I could enjoy rereading it when I needed to. This is going to be a lot of fun and hopefully keep everyone up to date and more informed. Lets all help Debbie get this first issue off the ground. So start sending and like she said if it doesn't make this issue we will get it in the next one.
Have a great day everyone

Debbie, do you always have your best ideas at five in the morning? Sounds like your brain thinks all night long, mine does too sometimes, I think everyone does from time to time!

I think that would be a wonderful idea! Your suggestions are great and perhaps during the night tonight I will come up with some additions!

Hi Mama Hen and Hennies....I love both the idea of our own News Letter and using our name for the Name of Our Newsletter.

Debbie...You could do recipes that are Healthy and Gluten Free that you have tried that actually taste good.
I am starting to Teach and Do The Daniel Plan by Pastor Rick Warren...so I will be trying to do gluten free and
healthier eating too. So, If I find good healthy...tried and true Recipes I would share also.
So far, I have 7 people signed up for my New Bible Study Weight Loss Class and it starts next Tuesday. I
am really excited about it. ~ Also...I write Inspirational Poetry...so, I would be happy to contribute an
Occasional Poem. And you all know I am nuts about Photography.

I do not have a subscription to Mary Jane Farms. Had to cut back
some of my spending and so that one went by the way side.

Maybe we could take turns doing a Give Away also...so Mama Hen doesn't have to do it each month. I would love to do that one
month myself. Not a MJF Subscription but something different.

I am sure once we get our thinking caps on...we will come up with Lots of Great Ideas to Contribute.

Love and Hugs,
Peggy

Thank you for the recipe you sent me Ruth, it will go in our Premier Edition
Peggy yes we would love to have some of your poems that is a wonderful idea, I love poems especially if someone else writes them:-) Any and all healthy and gluten free recipes as well. All recipes so we will be able to reach everyone with new ones. Good Luck Peggy with your new Bible Study Weight Loss Class, I am sure it will be a success for all of you.
Thank you also Peggy for wanting to contribute to our monthly give aways, we will try to do something different every month and your name is in my Mama Hen hat for the first drawing for a monthly subcription.
Photos too will be added, so lets continue to send your submissions.
Thank you all for your enthusiams, yes Sue I do my best thinking in the early morning, it is just so peaceful and quiet.
Hugs,
Debbie

Sherry and Julie I think the book corner/book review/book swap idea is great!
Here's just a small preview of the bookshelf of books I haven't read yet!

This is a 6' tall 4' wide 2' deep bookshelf ....
lol ....obviously I'm ready for a book swap!

Wow Tammy! Looks like one of my shelves that I just emptied. I found an online site that does swapping and all that is paid is the cost of media mail to ship to someone else. You get credits to use for books you may want. This looks like fun so I may go grab some of the ones I have listed off there and hang onto them for our swap here if we do it.
There is also a sister site for swapping cds and dvds. Mostly I am downsizing so I am interested in getting rid of mine. I pass my credits to my daughter for homeschool books.
Sorry I got off topic it just reminded me of that.

Looking forward to our newsletter and all the fun ahead!
