Thank you for the continued prayers!!! They say our stuff is arriving TODAY! It is going to feel like Christmas! We should get to sleep in beds rather than on the floor tonight :) The children are requesting the tree to be unpacked as one of the first things after everything is in the house... and you know... we just might <3

Shannon, I'm so happy for you and your family. I haven't slept on a pallet since my twenties and I'm thankful for that. To wake after a snug night of sleep in your own beds will be a wonderful thing. We have so much we take our things for granted - like a warm comfortable bed. Thanks Shannon for reminding me of all I have to be thankful for.

That sounds like a plan, Shannon - tree first, then beds. So happy your things will be arriving today!

Sara - Never thought of sleeping on pallets. They might give a little more than the solid floor, but definitely uncomfortable. Beds re so much more welcoming.

When I was 16, I took a group of 12 little 12 year old GAs to an overnight retreat.(in the Baptist church they had GAs for girls and RAs for boys.) Each girl brought one pillow and two quilts. We were assigned a small Sunday school room in which to sleep. I decided that making a wall to wall pallet would be best and most comfy. Then one quilt would cover three of them. At least our pallet was thicker than it would have been sleeping individually.

Ladies, perhaps you know of Debbie Fischer from other swaps. She has been in our 10" fabric square swap. Anyway she needs prayers. On the last fabric swap, her son and disabled husband had to cut, fold, press and get her envelopes filled and ready to mail. She needs surgery on her eyes, however she has other issues now and is undergoing testing. Her son gave up his life and moved in with them to be a caregiver and help with his dad. Now they both need him. Please pray for this family. If you want to send a card just email me and I will send it to you. Remember my emails come with my husband's name, not mine. Thanks sweet farm girl sisters.

Marilyn, Thanks for posting about Debbie! I will be getting cards out to her tomorrow! One Christmas, the other thinking of you! Bless that family, they have had more than their share of troubles. Happy that Trent in there to help them out.
I have been MIA as I have had wonderful company since before Thanksgiving, and I am running way behind on getting Christmas together for family and friends.

I'm copying this off the main forum... I have a definite praise.... as well as asking for more prayers. First the praise... we have our belongings!!!! They got here Friday and we are slowly working through the unpacking process... though the tree was unpacked kinda early on ;) As for the prayer request... I'm copying what I wrote on the porch...

I am not a superstition person. I believe bad things happen because we live in a fallen world. I believe God has everything under His control. I believe I will learn from each and every life event as long as I pay attention and put the effort in. I believe that everything will work together for good of God's Kingdom! But I am mentally and emotionally drained. Last night, a little after eight, Emi, my 15 month old, pulled a cup of hot tea down that my hubby had put on the end table. It happened so fast and yet it seemed like it was in slow motion. I set the cup up (only half ended up dumping), stripped her shirt off, and hubby and I got her in the bathtub with cold water running down her hand, arm, and on her chest. We then put burn cream on it, and thought she was good. She played, drank a bottle, and went to sleep. I sat and cried on and off feeling like a failure as a mom. Then about two hours later she woke up screaming... she arched her head back as she screamed and we saw for the first time that where her chin usually rests on her chest, especially when she is tired, was burnt... both under her chin and on her chest! The skin had rubbed off due to the friction. My heart broke all over again and we took her into the ER, about 45 minutes away. They cleaned it up, bandaged it, gave her meds, and said she will be okay. We got to bed around 0230 this morning. I thought surely today would be an okay day... we should be getting paid hubby's last paycheck... they have been holding it, which they are allowed to do for ten days (apparently ten business days!?!?). No joy! They still have not paid... all we can hope and assume is they considered the 7th a holiday, so today would be the 10th business day in that case and maybe we will get paid tomorrow...

Shannon I've so sorry to hear Emi was burnt. I pray for her healing. Also Shannon I pray for your peace of mind and for you not to doubt yourself. You are a good mother and under watchful eyes accidents happen.

Just wanted to drop a line and ask for prayer for my dad, Burton. He seems to have caught a cold and can't seem to shake the cough. It's one that he needs to get the congestion up so if you could would you pray for healing. At his age it's never an easy thing to get over like the rest of us might.

Thank you. I don't know if I can get him to go out to the doctor. He has an appointment already but not until the beginning of next month. He is kind of stubborn when it comes to going.
