Just my guess but since she has a spacer and must be ever so careful, as well as getting the bag antibiotics, I'm guessing that is why she must do rehab. Since she lives alone...id think she will need more rehab after her new knee is put in...usually it is a two week stay.or at least around here it is.

Her daughter didn't say but they most likely won't let her be at home alone if she is a fall risk. I'm sure she will be back at rehab after the knee replacement. So this is going to be awhile for her to be away from home.

For Darlene, rehab means they will take care of her and give her a little time to rest before the surgery. She can take advantage of that. Then I am sure she will have at least a little more rehab before going home.

Update on Darlene from her daughter in Facebook.

Mom Update:
Thank you to those who have sent cards, I think they really brighten her day,

Also thank you for all the prayers and well wishes, she and I are truly thankful for so many special caring people in our lives

So I'm here with mom for a couple days (heading back up to WA Saturday morning), it is soooo good to see her in person and see how she's doing. Still in a LOT of pain but it's still WAY better than it was before (which she would probably disagree with but I'm relieved to see her be able to be moved or touched and not reduced to tears- though it can still get close). Poor thing, there's just no getting comfortable for her. She just got off this renal diet they had her on as it's no longer necessary and now she can freely drink all the milk and eat all the tomatoes they've been depriving her of- a huge sore point for her up until now. She's now on a "consistent carb diet", basically meaning they'd like her to get a consistent amount of carbs at each meal to keep her blood sugar levels from fluctuating too much. Today mom finally got a reasonable hair wash -she was feeling it was much needed, a bath, sheet change, wound care, and physical therapy. Quite a bit of moving for her (though not off the bed yet), not without pain and struggle, but good to see her be able to get through it.
Thankfully she seems to be being treated well by all I plan to talk to her case manager tomorrow to get more info about the overall plan. Will update again later

Would you please send me Darlenes address Denise. She is so thoughtful all the time with her online cards, it is now time to repay that kindness. Linda I am keeping you in my prayers as well.

Thank-you for posting these updates on Darlene. She has had a very rough time with her knee replacement. I hope and pray she is gaining strength and good health these days so that she can get her knee surgery done and finally put this all behind her.

Could we please keep Shannon's husband in our prayers? He just had back surgery yesterday and it sounds like he will be recovering until Christmas.

Yes, do remember him in prayer. Shannon indicated that he had some issues but was doing ok. She was at the hospital with him. Seems like that was Friday.

Morning Girls, Our sweet sister Julie needs prayers this morning. She is losing a dear friend today and I think she needs to hear from us to help her through this time of heart break. I know we all could use a little up lifting in our everyday lives. We have a wonderful group of ladies on this forum and we just need to take a few minutes and let the ones that need us that we are here for them. Prayers for Julie, Darlene, Ruth, Shannon and her family, Linda, Sara, I could list all of us. So if you have a minute today and your heart tells you the one person you need to let know you are thinking about them, please do so.
Know that you all have wonderful hearts and loved dearly. Have a great day.

Farmgirl Hugs & May all your Wishes come true.
