Oh my, I am sorry that Betty Lou has gone from her family, but she is no longer sick. What a blessing that she did not linger or suffer. God does know what is best. God bless each of you.

Oh Alicia, your family does need a lot of prayer, so we best get busy. Can you put hot Epsom salts packs on his shoulder? If you can get to town there are pain patches you can purchase over the counter. I use them all the time. They might dull his pain enough that he could sleep.I sleep on my side's and when my shoulders get bad I sleep in a recliner.

Alicia,
Continuing to keep you all in prayer. Especially your Dh and your step-grandpa. Do you mind sharing his first name I'd like to add him to my prayer list. We went through a time with my dad's insurance when he had the triple bypass a year and a half ago. They seem to do the deciding how long someone can stay which is ridiculous because they have no clue what is going on. We switched insurance for dad when he went to rehab so we didn't have to worry about updating the insurance company every 7 days. He would have had to come home way before he was ready or able.

The insurance companies are why people who have surgeries have to leave the hospital in two days able or not. Even births are out the next day here.

It is sad.

Thanks ladies. It was my turn to fall today... :( I hope I can move tomorrow. Matt feels it is certainly his rotator cuff. We won't know anything else about his situation at work until Monday. He tried to stop by the hall this morning and they had a sign up saying no one was to come in w/o an appointment.

Denise, his name is Art. I haven't seen him much in recent years. Occasionally, I would stop by. He always called me his favorite grandchild, even after my step mom and dad divorced. I think bc I was a country girl who loved horses, and he raised Appaloosas. He is a very private man, though and since he is on a ventilator, he doesn't want visitors. My little sister just told me everything a couple of days ago, she JUST found out how bad it is, too. She said he had bronchitis for 3 months before the surgery. I guess the reason they still operated was b/c he was 90% blocked? I mean his lungs would have been so weak, no wonder he isn't getting better! They are talking about a nursing home, but the nearest one that accepts his insurance is 3 hrs away. It is just very sad.

Alicia - don't you know you are not suppose to that nonsense!?!? ;) in all seriousness, I am terribly sorry you fell. Are you pretty bruised? You don't have any herbs, do you? (I'm thinking arnica flowers and comfrey). I sure hope you aren't too sore!

Praying!

Oh ouch Alicia! Arnica is excellent for soreness and bruising. I get it in a lotion. Thank you for his name I like to be specific when I can.

I will put Art in my prayers Alicia that he gets to feeling better, and for you to not be aching too badly after your fall today.

Take it easy

My knee is pretty bruised.

Shannon, I have dried comfrey? No Arnica, though.

Thanks everyone. I need them. I feel like we are falling apart... Literally and figuratively...

Alicia - make a poultice with the dried comfrey and put it on the bruised/sore areas. It will help you heal a little quicker. Just not on anything open, as it causes tissue to grow really quickly, and could grow over bacteria, causing an infection/abcess under the skin.

Shannon, how is Aly?

Tomorrow is the funeral for Aunt Edwina. I am so nervous b/c of the issues we had with some of Matt's cousins a couple of months ago.

Alicia - Aly does not have a fever this morning, PRAISE GOD! She is still whiny, so not 100%, but no fever!!!

As for the funeral - do NOT let that cousin upset you! The funeral is about Aunt Edwina... I will be praying she keeps that in mind and holds her tongue! You have enough on your plate without her being difficult! Is Matt able to go with you? Praying for you!!!

Shannon ~ Glad to hear her fever has broke. I am sure that is a huge relief to you. Did your husband make his trip to Virginia?

Alicia ~ Will be praying for you about the funeral. They can be stressful when the are problems with family. Sorry you have to deal with so much.

All of us are going. Unless my back gets worse. I was scooping puppy poo so the boys could play out in the yard today and my herniated disks got that flare up twinge. I am in tears over stressing about all that needs to be done today that I can't do now.

Alicia, hold your head high. Go to the funeral. Ignore the pathetic jealousy that some may bring along. Families often display all of their uglies at funerals. Rise above that. Pay your respects to your aunt and leave. Float in...Float out...like the queen.

Alicia, Praying you will get some rest and that your back will be able to heal. Maybe a warm bath with some lavender. Hope things will soon be going smoothly for you.
