Alicia, remember God is holding you in the palm of His hand, and you are protected there from anything. Even petty, jealous cousins. Take care of your back, even 15 minutes of rest makes a difference. Praying for you!

Happy Day!

Thanks ladies. We actually went out to the farm yesterday, so all may be straightening out! As for my back, well, it was another busy day. :/

Remember my grandpa Art? I went to see him today. Here is what happened-

"I had a really heartbreaking experience this morning. I went to see my step grandfather...He just has not been able to recover from his surgery. He has a trach tube in. He can't talk but I still went to visit him. I did my absolute best to read his lips. And it was so hard. but I did my best. I took my computer planning to show him pictures and tell him all about the farm. I thought that I could occupy his mind with happy thoughts! That maybe I could tell him wonderful things instead of talking about sad things.that was the plan. That isn't how it went. I barely got to talk to him a little bit about the farm before he started trying to get my attention. Soon I was trying to make out what he was saying. Some things weren't too hard like I love you so much Alicia. Or its not your fault whenever I couldn't understand him. But the hardest one of all but whenever he looked at me and told me I'm ready to go home. And I asked him do you mean to your house in Elberfeld? And he said no and I said do you mean to heaven? And he said yes. and I can't blame him. I can't be selfish enough to see that he's miserable and he's uncomfortable and that he had a wonderful life! And that he's ready. God knows the day and the time that we will leave this earth. No amount of selfishness or hopeful thoughts or even praying changes that. All we can do is pray for peace for understanding. All we can do is pray that the life they had was enough. so it was like saying goodbye today. I smile to tears and made sure he knew that I love him as I kissed his forehead and told him goodbye. I reminded him that I see him again one way or another! And I told him that he was just one more person that I loved and respected who would get a hug my son again before I do. So please pray for our family as we are hit by another loss this week. Because I have a feeling it won't be a whole lot longer. But more than anything pray for his daughters. They already lost their mother several years ago and this is going to be hard for them."

Many Blessings- Alicia #5232

Sending prayers to you Alicia and all of your family during this hard days and weeks. What a blessing that your step-grandfather could let you know he was ready to go and have the chance to say his good-byes in person with you.

Alicia, when my mother was dying she saw Jesus twice. She told the nurses in the nursing home and hospital. One day she even told me that she tried so hard to climb those stairs by her room to get up to heaven the night before, but did not make it. There were no stairs anywhere in those facilities, nor at her home. The PA told me to call her family in. Over the next week everyone came, even my reclusive brother. After her visit with him she went into a very deep sleep. Then four days later, leaving the nursing home I heard a fiddle playing FADED LOVE, an old song she loved. I knew we were close. After lunch on Sunday, I gathered tapes of her brothers fiddle music and a player. I drove that thirty miles and played her childhood music for her. Then I kissed her, told her she had seen all of us, and assured her we would be OK, if she was ready to go with Jesus. I got in my car, drove home and ran into town to Wal-Mart. I got the call. Come. They would not say why, of course but I knew. She had made that journey to heaven. I did not cry, Although I missed her, because for four years I had seen about her almost every day. I would go to the phone to call her, then realize I couldn't. I had cared for her and her husband until he drove away one day and became very lost. I told her to call his daughter then. I was teaching in the small community they moved into, after a year of her illness. I was very glad because that first year the trips were an hour, each way. My mother loved Jesus and Bob Wills fiddle music. Growing up her family was very musically talented. She taught me a lot. Someday... I will see her again.

Hi all! My cousin's nephew was born last night. He is in desperate need of prayers!!! He was born with a disproportionately small head, his bottom lip is so far in he cannot suck properly, he has a dimple in his back, and most urgently, he has no anus. He has been transferred to a different hospital, without momma, to have emergency surgery to fix this, though they have no idea as of yet how bad the defect is. Please please please pray for Blake and his family! I will update as I can!

Update: Surgery will not be until tomorrow or the next day, as they are trying to stabilize him. The momma is having issues as well... this is her second baby. After her first child, she hemorrhaged internally to the point of almost dying... she is showing signs of this again. Please continue to pray and I will update everyone as I know something!

As a momma I cannot imagine being told my newborn has to get transferred to have emergency surgery and then get told once there that they cannot do it until he is stabilized!!!

UPDATE 2/17 - Good morning all! God is good! He is answering prayers as we speak! Baby Blake will hopefully be able to have surgery today. As of right now, the plan is to give him a colostomy bag. He will then spend probably the next two weeks in the hospital. After three to six months, they will look at more surgeries to give him an anus. Hopefully waiting that long to do anything more permanently will mean less consecutive surgeries. He has a long road ahead of him! With that said, this came as no surprise to God! And it is He who is in control!

Jessie (the momma) is still struggling with her health as well. Her swelling is really bad, and her potassium is critically low. Due to Blake being in the NICU (they also have him under bili-lights), and her own health concerns, she is unable to see or be with him very often. They did allow her to hold him for a short while this morning.

Thank you for your continued prayers, and I will continue to update as I know anything!

God is Good! Thanks for the good update, How much did Blake weigh when he was born Shannon?
I will keep them both in my prayers and I pray that they will get his momma stronger. I am so glad she is getting to hold him some it is so much better for both of them. God is good and he is right there with them.

Thank you God!

Blessings
