I used to do this when I worked with the elderly. Every day I'd find a goofy, sweet or serious recognition day on the internet to inspire a song and activity. There are hundreds to choose from. We'd also give people a chance to add their own celebrations, everything from birthdays to finding a lost pair of glasses! I realize how much these moments of celebration added to my life, now that they are no longer part of it. So, I'm bringing them back and would like to share them with you.

Today is the"International Day of Charity." A good day to celebrate gifts to others and our own bounties!

Anybody have something else to celebrate?

Happy Day!

Life in general! I feel like every day I have is a blessing, for me and that I should share that blessing in some way with others.
Thanks for sharing

Have to love "Read a Book Day!" my kids all cheered at this and promptly pulled out books. I love how excited they are about reading... Now if I could only get the same enthusiasm about their school...

Hope everyone had a nice Labor Day holiday. Darlene sent the most moving and beautiful e-card to celebrate the day, thank you so much! It gave me chills.

Today is a great day to celebrate for country music fans. It's the birthday of both Jimmie Rodgers and Patsy Cline!

Happy Day!

Yes, Thank-you Darlene for the e-card! It was a fun surprise to open up and enjoy. We had a day of tons of rain again. sigh. Everything is soggy beyond belief and today is supposed to be a repeat of yesterday.

Happy Grandparents Day! My maternal grandparents were both artists and very interesting. Mom Mom was definitely not the "baking cookies in the kitchen type," she was more the "driving a convertible and going to Europe type!" But they were lots of fun. My paternal grandmother was an angel, a piano teacher and a Farmgirl. I didn't get to meet my paternal grandfather, but Grammy was the best grandmother in the world. I love love love being a grandmother, myself!

What were your grandparents like?

Let's see, I think I might like to color. When I was a child, I loved to get a new coloring book and sit down and decide how to color all of the pictures. It was hard work staying within the lines!!

Girls, I can't believe the amount of adult coloring books on the magazine racks at Barnes and Noble. I have two but haven't taken time to color yet. Every day is a coloring day.

You can say that again!

Ladies, today is National Apple Dumpling Day. As loyal MJF Farmgirl Sisters, since we are in the midst of celebrating all things Apple, I feel it is our duty and responsibility to eat an apple dumpling today if humanly possible. It's a tough job, but it must be done! :)

Apple Dumpling day! Right up my alley. Sounds like a great thing to have with tea or maybe with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! Definitely need to let JT know. He used to take me out for coffee and apple dumplings at a little local diner. They were so good! We would go in the evenings for a date night when the kids were all still at home.
