Sara, I am enjoying my new pressure cooker. Today I cooked pinto beans that I had soaked for about 24 hours. they cooked 15 minutes and were tender but needed to thicken up a bit so I poured Them Into another pan added some salt and finished Them that way. Then I put in onions mushrooms and a pork tenderloin with lots of black pepper. I cooked it 25 minutes but added 15 more minutes because it was partially frozen when I put it in.. Hadlee really bragged on it.

Marilyn it all sounds tasty. I'll have to try cooking something in mind. I pressure can beans in mine after soaking overnight and they cook as they can in 75 minutes. Haven't had a hard bean yet - perfectly cooked.

I really need to use my electronic pressure cooker. Everything you are making sounds wonderful, except mushrooms. I don't do mushrooms. LOL!

Marilyn, what kind of new pressure cooker do you have? I have an electric one but it lost something off of it's lid and I can only use it as a Pot or slow cooker now.

Tomorrow is National Winnie the Pooh Day! I've decided we will be taking the day off from "normal" stuff (or at least part of it) and celebrate Pooh. We will be reading the original stories, as well as the true story that inspired Winnie the Pooh! We will also watch some episodes off of youtube and do some coloring pages. Dinner will be Pooh's Honey and Lime Chicken Thighs, Piglet's Pink Lemonade, Rabbit's Garden Vegetables, Tigger's Twisted Tail Pasta, Owl's Deviled Eggs, and Eeyore Cupcakes. Anyone else going to celebrate?

Denise it was 21 when I finally looked at my car thermometer this morning on the way to school. No coat. I had on a light sweater and thought to grab a sweat shirt with a fuzzy lining. No wind made the 21 feel like 35. But it took a !ong time to get our room warm at the little church. I was with a kid who can not be in regular classes because he did something naughty. Of course they don't tell us that. I was glad I had a fleece blankets in the car to cover my legs with. Today was a sitting day. Last Wednesday I was the AG teacher's sub. There were two boys cutting square tubing and welding it together to make shelves. Two more were building picture frames, using a chopsaw. Then two were building a gun cabinet and one was trying to build a tv stand out of old lumber. Several were in the classroom, so that day I was back and forth all day long. They are so messy. If I have to do that again we will have a clean the shop day. High School teachers do not leave lesson plans. I had one teacher text me, anotherone called. The others called the secretary. Elementary teachers are way better.

Did you know it's International embroidery month. Unfortunately I didn't find out till today. But fortunate that we don't have to wait for a special month to embroider!

Today is National Read Across America Day also know as Dr. Seuss Day!
It is also: National Dress in Blue day, National Banana Cream Pie day, National Old Stuff day.

I guess we can take our pick but making a banana cream pie sounds like a good thing to add to whichever we celebrate.

I didn't know it was dress in blue day when I got up this morning but I have that covered! Actually I think I've got them all covered.

I know it's hard to lose a furbabies. I've lost three over the years and Tybee is getting up there in age.
Have you thought about getting a furbaby from a rescue Winnie? So many out there that need loving homes.

Those are neat celebration days.
I like the Bat appreciation day, and the Ellis Island would be an interesting one.

I thought the family history day was interesting too.
My brothers have done the genealogy of our family and they have been to go back quite far.

I'm sure some of my relatives came through Ellis Island. One of my cousins has one side of my mother's side of the family pretty far back - my mother had done quite a bit of genealogy on her side, too. We don't have much on my father's side, though; my mother tried but didn't get very far with his side.

My great great grandparents on my mother's dad's side came through Ellis Island. So grateful my parents were able to tell us so much about their families. Her mother's family came through there too but I'm not sure which generation. I have second cousins who are working on the genealogy forward from what my brothers had starting with my dad's generation and working up to now. That is a huge task getting all the families and their children and grandchildren up to date.
