A new baby Banty chick hatched yesterday. I think that makes six...all different ages! Had, her mom and grandma are traveling. Julie rented a vehicle because their car and truck were not large enough. I don't know where the people sat...after the walker, potty chair, blow up mattress, sheets, three large blankets, one huge suitcase and a smaller one, a bunch of bags, an ice chest, two little dogs with their toys, food, etc. I asked if there was a washer and dryer where they are going?? They said they had been packing for a week. C R A S Y!!! |

Well I think it is fun, but they are still an hour away from their lodging for tonight. I think they are pretty tired. Tomorrow should be much shorter. |

Today is August 5th, Monday and I'm so happy! My whole family is home. Funny thing the ones who spent five days in Arkansas and Missouri got home only 15 minutes before the ones who spent almost three weeks in Wisconsin. They are all so happy to be home too! Thank you God for allowing them some fun times as well as safe travels. I love you so very much! |

Today is Left handers day! My brother and I were the only two in our family except our paternal grandmother. Whenever we'd go to visit her she say "here come my southpaws". LOL! |

My son is considered left handed, but uses his right just as much! |

My mom told me my oldest brother favored his left but the school made him change back then. He can be ambidextrous at times he says. |

My son was a perfect free throw shooter in high school basketball. He never missed...but shot RIGHT handed. Many games were won because of his free throws. |

When I broke my right elbow, I actually learned to write with my left hand. I have always used both. My hubby cousin was married to a guy who worked on big oil rigs in the middle east. He said that in some country if you saw a man with only one hand, you knew he had committed a crime. So they cut off his dominate hand...the one he wrote with, ate with and wiped his hiney with. |

I believe they said only 11 percent of the population is naturally left handed. Every time I go to sign something they always tilt the paper for a righty and seem surprised when I take up my pen with my left and tilt it the other way. LOL. |

I love to watch my son as he figures a house plan in order to do a bid. He has a little roller device that he rolls along the lines that the architect drew...which he holds in either hand, but usually his right. Then he writes the measurement with his left hand. He tries to tune out his noisy household in order not to make a mistake, but often times he goes to the job, gets his crew working then returns home to work the plan. Since he is all alone, except for his mother in law, who is always asleep in the rocker...things are quiet. |

Years of working on assembly and production lines I learned how to work with both of my hands. It comes in handy from time to time.
A little Bible history on being lefthanded. In Judges 20 it tells of 700 lefthanded slingers out of the tribe of Benjamin. Being an lefthanded slinger must have been an asset to have it mentioned in the Bible. I wonder how they went about recruiting the 700 lefthanded slingers. |

Today is National Lemon Juice day! Not sure how to celebrate that except maybe with a lemon meringue pie! I did use lemon juice in my peach jam. That will have to suffice. |

A sketch in honor of National Toasted Marshmallow Day. Find a good stick and a friend to sit with. And graham crackers and a chocolate bar.

I've been eating s'mores since my Girl Scout days in the fifths. Maybe that's why I have so many tummy rolls! |
