Hurricane Hermine seems to be heading our way. I am not home but all is well there as far as I know.

I think the 5.6 this morning was the strongest one thus far in this area. Usually they are 2s and 3s. They say they cause damage when they are 6.0 or higher.

You know what is funny, God works in strange ways.
Last night I went to the Game night and pot luck dinner at the church which is raised up kind of. Anyway one woman felt the jiggle a little and it scared her. she said she felt two of them.
I didn't feel a thing. It was weird.
I didn't mind not feeling it.
Were all ok here.
Thanks

How hard they are also have to deal with how deep they are some shallow ones are very bad, I think that one in Italy was pretty shallow. and so are some deep ones that move more.

It seems we did not get rain from the storm but enough wind to topple a tree and make a mess of the building JT keeps his equipment in for work. He should be getting home tonight and will get in touch with his insurance company on Tuesday. Seems the last 3 trips we've made out here a tree has gone over at home somewhere. Last time it was our rental property.

Good to read that everyone is ok! It sure has been a strange weather year!

Gorgeous day today! Although we are still "officially"... calendar wise anyway ... in summer mode, I do detect a hint of fall in the air. Some of the trees have started to turn their gorgeous autumn colours!

Enjoy your day everyone! Catch you later! Cheers!

Hot days and evening showers. Sounds like our usual late spring pattern. We lost tv signal last night and I wondered what was wrong. Five minutes later a down pour came.

So this is what that tropical storm did at our place. This is where we keep our equipment for our business. Fortunately, homeowners covers the building and the business auto insurance covers the contents and the trailer that we use at jobs that also was damaged.

Denise, I am so sorry you had so much damage to your out buildings and glad to hear that your insurance will cover the damages. Still, you have a mess to clean up and get new buildings to house everything! I am thankful nothing like that happened to your house or hurt anyone in your family! Hurricane Hermine created havoc from Florida onward up the East Coast. Our area had a lot of downed trees and power lines. Fortunately, we only had limbs and tree debris in out yard and we never lost power. The city has been picking up gigantic piles of debris all week long from neighborhoods. Everyone had a lot of clean up to do around here. The peak of the hurricane season is this weekend so we still have the potential for some bad storms for a while. Hurricane season is always worrisome!

Denise I am sorry for your damage and thankful for insurance.

Marilyn something came through here after 3a.m. and brought a little rain but a lot of thunder and wind. I would have probably slept through it but it woke Annie up and she kept barking at a plant that was blown off it's stand in the front yard. I think we got enough rain that I won't have to water today which is always a blessing around here. Plants just do better when it's God watering them and not me and the city of Paris.

Denise What a mess for you. I am glad you are ok though. Scary too!
Sara I sure am glad the wind and rain blew through and watered everything but didn't hang around like in other places.Hard rains are bad but the wind is the worst.
Marilyn we live up in the North Coast and we stay cooler, but from what I understand of the weather here is that when it is very hot inland it makes the fog come in until it cools and then we get some sun, that and our trees pull the fog in too!
So we have a lot of fog in the Summer here and mellow temperatures most of the year.

I am so glad everyone is ok from their storms.
Take care out there.

Blessings

Wow Denise! That's quite the storm. So glad you are okay!

Gorgeous late summer day here! I think we had some rain last night. Always welcome as it's been a dry season.

Catch you later! Cheers!

We didn't actually get any rain but apparently lots of wind. Glad it wasn't the house or garage. Most of it will be cleaned up by the time I get home.

I too am sorry about your damages. I hope everything goes well with your insurance company.
We got over an inch and a half of rain. I left at seven, and ended up having to walk four long blocks in the blowing rain to get to the Science building where the conference was held. One session was a long walk from the other six. I am pooped.

It's cool this morning and the sun is shinning. Feels like fall here in 'Little Eden'. That's what I named my home.

Yes it is a beautiful day. No Humidity! The trees got a bath, to wash the dust from their leaves. Now it is time for God's Autumn show. As the leaves begin to change the wild sunflowers and red salvia bloom, big time.

It is cool and sunny here today, but I saw that Wyoming got snow. Brrr.
I had a problem getting on yesterday. Our whole County and beyond was with out AT&T Internet, phone and all. Apparently a fire down south caught some wires and things on fire so we lost contact totally for about 24 hours. It was off early yesterday and didn't come on until this morning.

What a mess.

For sure especially if you don't have TV in the first place.

It gets kind of quiet even with the radio on.
