It's been beautiful in the North Georgia Mountains the last few days, cool temps and sunny sky! But we need rain soooo desperately! About 11 inches low, up to 15 inches in some areas.

It rained last night and we sure needed it. Still in drought - hopefully the winter rains will bring us out of it.

We are having above average temps again with not a drop of rain. Things are getting very dry again and we are overall down 3 inches for the year despite all the rain we had from the hurricanes in September. At least the humidity is lower and the mornings are about 60-64 which helps. Last week we had some cooler weather but it has all vanished. Halloween looks to be it's usual hot forecast as well. It always seems to be hot here on Halloween and it makes it uncomfortable for kids and costumes. I want some much cooler air to finally drop down from Georgia and give us a break!

We got 1-1/2 inches of rain in a very short period of time yesterday. Luckily it was after we got back, well, on the ay back, from a Fall Festival where we took Ed's carriage. Since I've had my twin grandsons the past 3 weeks we took them - in costume - too. They had a great time, got lots of candy, and played some fun games - even life-size foozball.

We are getting some nice gentle rains today. Good day for baking. I mentioned that on my blog today and what ended up happening.

We had some hard winds yesterday but it has been raining today, kind of cool too. It has eased for the moment.
Gotta go to work soon, so hope it holds off raining until I finish the outside buildings. I have to push the vacuum between classes outside.
Have a good day.

It looks like we skipped most of Autumn. We went from Indian Summer to winter overnight. It is windy and cold now. Another cold front tomorrow.

Cold and windy today! It has been windy for a couple of days but today, the wind seems stronger. Perhaps it's because I'm at the shoppe and it does seem to be a wind tunnel here! I'm questioning if my OPEN flag will get blown away! It sure is swaying!

Carole, your weather doesn't sound much better than ours is here at the moment. we have had some hard winds today and earlier with the wind the rain was hard and sideways coming from the west. all wet.
Have a good evening and stay dry.

We had a prolonged fall with great temps and then pretty leaves. Then boom !, a couple of winter storms and I know it's almost Christmas. White snow, ice and wind. Reality check for Minnesota.

It's a pretty morning here but no rain forecasted for the next two weeks. We need winter rain to help break the drought.

There's a saying in Texas "if you don't like the weather hang around and it will change". My sunny pretty morning is now foggy - visibility a couple of blocks. Fog was not in the forecast.

Brenda, I was thinking of that scene in Narnia we the just step out of the wardrobe. It's beautiful.

Carole, We have thunder storms when it snows. Seems weird. The worst thing about living in Florida was the storms. The good thing was we could almost set our watch by them. 2:00 every afternoon and lasted about 15 minutes.

It started raining here around 3 AM and it started raining again around 8:30. Love the rain - my pond and plants need the rain.

Connie - Are the forest fires in Tennessee affecting your area? Smoke or ash? I hope you are far enough away from them.
