Marilyn, you are so right about Texas weather. You, Linda, and I live in the part of the state which has the biggest changes. Weather systems out of the west, north, and up from the gulf meet up in north central and northeast Texas. Occasionally we get something out of the east. I grew up with hot summers, mild winters with a little ice/snow; nothing has changed and the wind still blows and blows.

Today hi of mid 50s and cloudy - where did my yesterday's sunshine go?

Today a heat wave is coming through North Eastern Wyoming. We are going to be in the low 40s!!! While on one hand it will be nice to have some of the snow melt (these 4-5 foot snow drifts are causing some issues), it also means more ice, as we will back to freezing by early evening. Last I saw we are suppose to get another 6 inches of snow this weekend...

Hey Shannon, haven't you been out snowmobiling right over the fences buried under all that snow? The friends of my son and his family said that is great winter fun.

Our temps have been all over the thermometer here. Snow one day, 60's the next. Farmers Almanac predicted a bad winter for us, haven't seen that but it's not over yet.
Hope everyone is getting some sunshine, very foggy here today.

This morning has a heavy fog over us. We are headed into more humidity and eventually rain on Saturday and Sunday. It has been a week in the mid 70s and all of my azaleas are opening up and starting to bloom. I hope we don't have a sudden cold snap with a killer frost that would ruin everything. I love the bright deep pinks, purples and whites all mixed together!

Winnie your azaleas sound wonderful. They won't bloom here until much later. I don't have any, but I can enjoy my neighbor's across the fence without the work.

It's been very mild here today with sunshine as well. I'm always afraid when it's like this that the plants will get ahead of themselves.

I went outside about 2:30 this afternoon and immediately our enormous border collie was against my right leg. She does this when she is afraid. It can be thunder or gunshots or a really loud noise...nothing like that was happening. She came in the back door, but did not lie down, so after three or four minutes we went back outside. Again there she was, right up against me. (I am fearful of falling g when she does this.)
My husband came out and she decided to stick with him. We never did know what she was so fearful of. She pants and gets so agitated, I feel sorry for her. She is a great warning system, usually.

Oh Marilyn, I adore Border Collies! Bless her Heart! When I was a hairstylist, one of my customers raised Border Collies and they always had at least 2 in the car when they came to get their hair cut and I would go outside and pet them before they left! Dogs and Children sense things beyond adult understanding!

It was 70 and Sunny here today and after 10 P.pm. tonight we have chance of severe storms and maybe Tornado watches or warnings!

Marilyn, we used to have a yellow lab that got that way too over thunder and similar noises. He would pace and drool and huddle next to us. Now, I have learned , they have these thunder blanket wraps for dogs that is supposed to help them feel more secure. It is sort of like wrapping a newborn baby papoose style to keep them snuggled and feeling secure. Have you tried this blanket on your dog?
