I saw daffodils and tulips coming up in our yard already. Hoping we are done with the cold days.

Connie, I love your daffodils in the yard!! They remind me of growing up in Virginia where we had so many blooming in our yard. Sweet Lily June is just so cute in that pile of leaves!!

It is partly sunny today and warm but not hot. The bumblebees outside my window are taking over the azalea bush with all of it's bright pink blossoms. I just love Bumble bees!!

The snow has been falling since around 1:00 p.m. today - So beautiful, so peaceful! We have over 6 inches of the fluffy stuff! Loreena McKennitt is playing in the background while I machine quilt - Life is good!

So far lots of lily and tulip leaves have come up and only one yellow jonquil or daffodil - not sure, but think jonquil.

Just got a phone community alert from the county. Outdoor burn ban has been extended for another thirty days. Possibility of rain tomorrow but for the last month all possibilities have faded.

We go under burn bans frequently. Even with rain, left over dried vegetation and a bijillion fallen leaves can spread a fire rapidly. Farmers, including my son need to burn brush. They must let the Sherrifs dept. Know about controlled burns. That way they are not surprised and overwhelmed by too many fires at the same time.

Is everyone reading about the Oroville Dam and all the evacuations? I used to have a summer home in Oroville. I think we would have been high enough because we were miles from the river. Feel sorry for all the people who have to leave their homes. The emergency spillway, that had never been used before, has given way in some parts. Hope is that it doesn't get worse. Prayers for everyone there.

One man who tracks earthquakes, has for quite a number of years, said it is possible that an earthquake could hit that area within the next couple of days. One struck Alaska in the wee hours this am followed by one that struck Mexico. Both in the 5. 0 range. Usually when that happens, one will hit the mid point between those. Oroville is that mid point. Prayers are needed for those folks.

I just watched a new video by bp earthwatch. He said seven days of rain is predicted to be coming to California, via the pineapple express. He also said there is more wet snow this year, already, with more expected over the next week and a half. Tahoe is expected to reach 49° in the next couple of days and snows will melt and run off.
Ladies we really need to pray for all of the folks out there. This is not a good situation. Pray.

Praying for all those in harms way.

I do have a praise. Woke at 2 a.m. and it was raining - woke at 7 and it's still raining a good slow soaking rain. Giving thanks to the Lord for answered prayers.

Yes, I have been watching the Oroville dam issue and it is heartbreaking for that area. I pray that everyone will get out safely and that they won't lose their homes.

Carole, your snow scene is lovely and peaceful. What a juxtaposition from the early Spring we have down here in Floridathese days!@!

The rains did not wake me last night, but my pasture is full of little rivers this morning, so I know it rained. LOL!

Yes, Marilyn, the rains and melting snow in California is not going to end for quite a while. Prayers for all those people in the waters path. The pictures of the failing emergency spillway are frightening.

Darlene, that photo is my backward! I get to look at it every day! If you want a copy of the photograph, I can send you one!

I do like my backyard. I came home last night to this beautiful scene:

I just love the way the sun lights the back yard!

Love those daffodils Connie. Lily June sure is growing!

Carole, that is a lovely winter scene. I love it out here on our property when it snows. We really didn't get much this year. What we did get didn't last long.

Darlene, I will send you pictures of my backyard. BTW, the tree with the swing, is our old oak tree. I have no clue how old it is but I am positive that it is quite old. Oh the stories that tree could tell. It is also where the fairies live!

Denise, I wonder why you haven't gotten much snow. You are not that far south! Hum ... perhaps you are experience what we experienced the last 2 years, not being on the path of the storm!

Are you feeling a bit soggy Darlene? I remember our soggy spring, last year. The garden stayed so wet the produce was ruined.
