Light rain during the night, overcast now, may have light rain this afternoon and tomorrow.

Linda, how far do you live from Ed? Our weather is cloudy again today. We had light rain and wind during the night. I believe it will be south and east of us today.

It was not pretty here today! We had winds, sleet, cold and two water spouts on the bay in Eureka, I guess one came ashore and stopped. There was a video on it some one caught both of them. Neat to see though. They had snow in the mountains and bigger hail up North and lots of drivers slid off the roads, going to fast and probably on something.
Life goes on in Humboldt County. I am glad to be inside.

Darlene you are funny. I am sorry your weather was not nice. Sounds like you had a lot of different things going on. We bought five green twigs yesterday...thornless blackberries. I must decide where to plant them. I am excited that the two grape vines I bought last year are alive. One has two little leaves and the other one has a nice bud. If they survive it will be the first time I have been able to grow tame grapes. I am hopeful.
I hope your weather is nicer tomorrow.

72, sunny, and a nice breeze. Annie and I sat on the deck and shared a piece of raisin Irish soda bread.

Supposed to get up to 63 today and snow is forecast for tomorrow. I have been working on my garden area on the nice days.

-3 this morning. We are supposed to get up to 8 inches of snow over the weekend, winter just doesn't want to let go this year. We had blizzard last week just north of us all the way up to the Canadian border. Snow got so deep the Amtrak train got stuck on the tracks for several hours until they could dig it out. I can't wait for spring.

A little rain can straighten a flower stem. A little love can change a life.

Julie, burrrrrrrr that is cold. I hope the train was warm while they were stuck in the snow. I also hope your temps get above freezing soon. I guess the snow cover is good for your growing season. When does your family usually begin planting?

Julie, a good day to stay in and piddle around the house.

Upper 60s and sunny. It's overcast now so I'm waiting on the sun to pot up the herbs I bought last week.

Cloudy and a hi of 55. Time change this weekend - not happy about it - but it comes around whether I like it or not so I guess this calls for a attitude adjustment - not there yet but working on being happy about the change.

The best thing about it, is that it falls at the beginning of spring break...So those sleepy headed kids can just sleep a mite more, at home rather than at school.

Yes Sara it was a good day to stay in. I had Oliver here so didn't piddle much (a 3 yr. old doesn't allow that) but did play a lot so it was all good. Marilyn our earliest planting date would be April 5, according to crop insurance. It just all depends on how fast the ground temps warm up, when the snow all melts and the frost comes out of the ground. But all the prep work is being done now. Maintenance on the equipement, the grain cleaner comes next week and seed, fertilizer and fuel shipments will be getting delivered soon. 0 this morning and snow. how I envy the nice Texas weather you girls have.

Julie, I saw that Amtrak train on Facebook, that was a lot of snow they had to wait in. I am glad I wasn't on that one.
I have just been staying home today, getting a few things done, and am going to change most of my clocks early so I don't forget. Do we lose an hour, Like changing from 2pm to 1pm?
It is so confusing. I hate time change.
have a good day!

Last night, about sundown we had a strong gusty wind begin to blow and howl...a norther was blowing in. The back screen door was swinging open, then closed because the catch broke. Later when I went to close the back door and lock it for the night, I discovered a visitor. I asked my husband if he had let her in. He had not. So I guess that as the door was on its outward swing, Lucky, our enormous border collie just invited herself inside. She slept on an old bedspread that I keep back there just for her...when the thunder booms or people shoot guns. When I went out there just now, she was so happy, tail wagging, ready to go out side. She should be well rested, no patrol duties last night. I love her so much.

Marilyn we do form special relationships with our dogs. Fatigue was bad last night so I went to bed at 5p.m. and so did Annie. She sleeps with me and as far as I know she never budged from her spot. Up at 5:30a.m. and she has been going ever since saving the neighborhood from stray cats and pesty squirrels.

It rained during the night. Good for the herbs I potted. Five more days to last frost which is strange to say because so far this year there has been no frost. It would nice to have a mild summer too.

The moon tonight is BIG and BRIGHT, deep in the heart of TEXAS!!! But now it is getting the fuzzies all around it. Maybe it needs a blankie, because our temps will be in he 30s tonight.
