WOW! I'm glad Sherry, Sara and Marilyn are safe. We arae safe here, too. The tornados were in Emory - within 16 miles of my house, and in Canton - about 35-40 from Ed's house, but luckily we were not in the path of the tornados. We had lots of rain, and the power was out at Ed's house for about 1-1/4 hour. A car dealership in Canton, that had only been open a short time, was demolished and the new cars were strewn everywhere, even blown onto the Interstate. Today my DIL is working with the Red Cross in Emory, and Mon-Wed she will be in Canton helping out there. She is one who can issue vouchers to people needing housing and food.

Thanks for checking in Linda and Marilyn! Crazy weather indeed!

It is presently raining here! It has cooled quite a bit. We're expecting lows of 30s.

So glad you Texas sisters are ok! We are supposed to get rain and snow her through We'd. Then 70s and sun. Goofy weather! That's why we don't plant until Memorial Day.

Bonnie, my iris bloom in March and April. The year I went to Wisconsin with my son, DIL and first grand baby we were there in mid June. The iris were blooming. Her dad had plowed his garden and seeds were in the ground, but not up yet. The trees and flowers are taller up there than in Texas. Everything there was pretty and green. My son had talked about how neat and manicured the farms were, and he was right. I just had one question. Why did every farm have so many little buildings. I asked her dad if they had to pay taxes on those buildings, and he said yes. Honestly I counted as many as 12 on some farms.

My very old ones, yellow and white bloom first. Then purple, then the taller more modern ones bloom in mid April.
In August I need to move some more down the lane. I love to drive up and see my early spring time greeting...then it is a bit sad when the color is gone.

We have more buildings on farms because we need more protection from the weather. Our weather is four letters...rain! It looks so tropical here because of all the growth!

We were that way last spring. Every tree and Bush grew twice as much as usual. It is beautiful...until you attempt to go through it. I have a lot of pruning to do.

We have frost warnings out tonight. I have covered everything I could, but the fruit trees are all in bloom so I am praying it doesn't get to cold. Marilyn, in ND a farm yard and house are exempt from property taxes provided it is a working farm and the main dwelling so it doesn't matter how many buildings we have. However a smaller building is much easier to keep warm in the winter than a large one so that might have something to do with the Wisconsin farmer.

A little rain can straighten a flower stem. A little love can change a life.

We are having fires in NJ. So far no homes are in danger. We've had little rain here though a storm went through Friday night we didn't get any thing. Keeping my garden watered is a task but it has cooled down again so at least it's pleasant to do. We had a few quite warm days, not sure how long this coolness will last. I have some more to do outdoors so I'm hoping it is at least this week.

I woke up to BIG thunder, lightening and rain this morning. My husband said the electricity had been off since 5:30am. Just as I got my phone, to call it in...We had electricity! 6:45am. I was so crazy busy yesterday, I never had time to check the weather. I am so thankful for this rain. We got less than 3/4" the other night, so this is really going to be beneficial. ( 1 1/2" ) We have had warm days in the 80s and lower 90s, but cool nights. My son has not cut any hay this year. He said the night's are so cool, the hay is just sitting there, even though it was fertilized.
Julie that is interesting about the taxes in North Dakota.People in our county, including my son...are upset...because property taxes are set to double next year.

Marilyn, that sounds like you had quite a storm last night. Hope it helps the hay to grow.
I hope the taxes don't go crazy for you all.
We had a cool, grey, and sunny day off and on today. Normal for here.
Take care and have a good evening.

At Sunday Family Lunch, my son showed us pictures of a tall tree that was struck by lightening last night.Other trees around it were spared. It was split right down the middle into fourths, then a long piece went flying toward a horse in a pen. It hit the pen but not the horse, thankfully. When Hadlee was a baby they lost a huge tree right behind the horse barn, to a lightening strike. I was so tired I missed the excitement last night.

It's been raining a lot in Northeastern NY ... I don't mind jogging in the rain ... it's refreshing! We haven't had any "storms" just lots of rain. It sure is green and lush in my area!

We went from cool lower 60s with heavy grey clouds to sunny, with hot winds and nearly 100°S yesterday. I turned on my central air. I thought it was broken, but decided to try it. Six weeks ago my husband turned it on because I was too hot. He hates the AC. His brain seems not to be able to understand the little box on the wall anymore. He really had it messed up. It took a few changes...but it is so comfy now. No call for help was needed.

Well our three day hot summer weather is gone and we are super humid with rain showers off and on. Some lightening and thunder earlier. It is supposed to be like April all week. Our weather is confused or something.
