Carole, Minneapolis has weather all over the map. Right now it is low humidity with high 70s. But we can have 90s and humid too. We are expecting the hot weather at the end of August for our State Fair.

Another gorgeous day! Went for my jog early morning (6:00 am) such beauty ... I so enjoy the quietness ... I cherish solitude!

Today they are predicting a hight of 79 with chance of showers late morning! I love the sound of rain!

Winnie, do stay safe. In the seven years that I lived in Fort Lauderdale, I have never experience a hurricane. It just seems strange that lately they have been somewhat common.

Here's a picture of my rain gauge this morning. I knew it rained a lot last night. You can see it is almost up to the 8" mark!!

I just saw on the front page of yahoo the headlines "Texas braces for life threatening hurricane" ... what a concerning headline! Stay safe everyone!

Yes it is a problem Carole. I was 17, a college freshman ,the last time Corpus was hit like this.
Jami Bolton is in New Caney, Texas, a bit North East of Houston. Dallas/Ft. Worth news says they are receiving critical patients, including infants. They expect shelters to receive pets. Two feet of rain is a lot. The wind damage is always so bad. I remember a multi story building having no windows left, although the brick and steel building still stood tall. They are expecting storm surges of ten to twelve feet. They are evacuating people, some by school busses. Of course schools are closed. They even showed a doctor putting his wife and young children on a plane to send them to safety. He must stay behind. Medical people must serve, no matter how bad the conditions are...just like police and firemen and women. Pray for the safety of all in Harvey's path. He sounds a little "crazy".

Any of you in south texas are welcome to camp in my pasture to get out off the hurricane's path. Just let me know. They are now saying 8-12 feet wall of water surge on the coast.

My DIL is on call to go to Houston with the Red Cross. Not sure how long she would be there. She would be with the ERV (Emergency Response Vehicles). I will have the boys here during the day.

I just posted on the main forum about pasture available. My DIL has someone with horses coming to stay on her place from Corpus Christi. I hope someone can use the dry spot.

Wow that is so scary, and so nice of you Linda. I have you all in my prayers and hope it goes away soon.

Blessings

Fall is in the air ... the days have been somewhat cool ... cooler than usual. We did have some strange weather today. Cold to the point of wearing long sleeve and pants and all of a sudden a down pour ... pouf ... a heat wave!!!

My thoughts are with those in the path of the hurricane. Goodness .... keep safe everyone.

We're overly cool here as well. I'm bundled in a blanket as I type. But it's lovely to have the windows open and air out the house. I've been able to do that the better part of the summer. I love fall but feel we never really had a summer which I also love.

My son and his crew started framing a new house Monday, so this weather has really been a blessing to them. The month of August they worked framing a house in an indoor arena, shade, but hot. It is hay cutting, raking and baling time again . Allergies always act up.

96% humidity and overcast. It's like walking through a rain cloud. We're going to get a little rain and wind maybe from tropical storm Jose.

Beautiful day here. 65 degrees, no wind and beautiful sunshine. Rain coming in tomorrow so will get my outdoor chord done today.

A little rain can straighten a flower stem. A little love can change a life.

Overcast here today. Preparing for some rains and lots of wind from Jose. Need to get things in that could blow away. We aren't far from the shore so our winds could be damaging. Praying that it turns back out to sea.
