We had triple digit index in Arkansas, too. I wish with all the sweating I've been doing working outside that the scale would show I've lost some weight. LOL!

Here's a little bit of health info for surviving high temperatures. Before I retired I worked for a auto glass plant in the quality department. Our office and lab were air conditioned but the plant was not. A lot of my time was spent out in the plant doing inspections or tests. With six 3000 degree furnaces you can imagine how unbearably hot it was. One day I became ill and the nurse thought I was having an heart attack so I was taken to the ER. Thankfully it was not my heart but heat stress. It hadn't gotten to the heat stroke stage.

I told you that story to tell you this. The ER doctor told me heat depletes calcium from a woman's body more than from a man's. He said for me to eat a banana everyday I was in the heat. If you have leg cramps after working outside drink your water and have a banana.

Yes, water, water, water for the leg cramps. I drink a big glass before going to bed and two glasses when I get up in the morning before I eat anything. I eat a banana everyday but also take a calcium supplement. I drink lots of water but some days I get busy and forget. I didn't remember right away when I woke with a leg cramp that it could be dehydration and then I was thinking that I hadn't had much water to drink the day before.
Good advice Sara. Thanks!

Denise plain old yellow mustard is also good for night leg cramps. I heard about it years ago from seniors at a SNAP center. If they had cramps they would take a tsp of mustard. I was having leg cramps but didn't want to take mustard in the middle of the night so I made sure I had mustard sometime during the day even if it was just on a cracker. It worked no more leg cramps that are not from dehydration.

We are supposed to have some storms come through today and cool us down for the weekend. Unfortunatley it won't last long, back in the high 90's next week.

High of 92 today. Starting Wed we'll be in triple digits. 107 for Sat & Sun. Halfway through July so the dog days of August won't be far behind.

Went outside to water this morning to find it rained during the night. I checked and it rained enough I don't have to water today. So thankful for the rain. We're in a drought so every drop counts.

Normal and foggy here, but inland are hot fires with winds and so far has burned 80,000 acres and still burning.
The Carr fire up by Redding.
So sad.

Yes they are and getting worse, it is such a weird fire, they have had fire tornadoes, jumping over houses, which is good but there have been 5 people killed in it so far. Hot and fast. and a fire down by Yosemite, and one going in Mendocino County.

Third day of rain for us and it's so very good. My plants are loving it. Today is a thunderstorm and I do like thunderstorms like this one that doesn't have high winds and hail. Just thundering and lightening to clear the charged air.

Rained for a short while here - heavy when it rained but it didn't last long enough again. Like what we do get, though.

A beautiful 68 this morning with a possibility of more rain during the day. Did a little yard work and sat on side porch with Annie. It's going to be a good day today.
