Heating back up here which of course means humidity too. I don't remember our summers being quite so humid nor the temps being high for such long stretches. Used to be a 90 degree day once in a while but not for days at a time. I may have to move further north.

I woke up to a nice 72 this morning. Very nice, compared to the high 80s we've been waking up to in the morning.

Sara! Same here! I'm sooo thankful. We have got to sit on the patio from 6 pm to about 8 pm. The last few days untill the mosquitos run us in. Not too bad this year.

Listening to the thunder and raindrops are hitting the windows. Love a nice rain. Hope it cools it down but by the looks of tomorrow's forecast that is just wishful thinking

68 this morning - almost unheard of temp for August in Texas. I like it! & want more of it. Picked up more fallen twigs in back yard earlier and Annie killed her first rat. 68 degrees and a rat killing dog what could be better than that to start off my day.

Linda, On Annie's behalf thanks - she got an extra treat and I got to dispose of the body - not an equal trade.

Sara, I wouldn't like, the disposal part. But good for Annie. I don't think our rain did anything to cool it off. Though at least the grass will green up again.

Denise I know my plants perked up after our rain. I water ever other day but it isn't the same as a good soaking rain.

Last day of our vacation today in Geneva, Switzerland. It got hot again here today. Up in Zermatt, high in the ,ountains it was such a pleasure to have cool temps. But down here in the flat lands, the baking continues. Europe is worried and frazzled. You have to go way up in altitude to find any relief.

However, we are about half way through August which means that Summer is moving towards the end. We just have to keep the ice tea plentiful and our mind busy. I see a faint glimpse of September !!!!!

Had some nice steady rains this morning that lasted several hours, and it is raining again - this is at Ed's house. AT MY house, we had a little spit of rain and that was all. I hope more comes toninght.

It was nice for the wedding and rained a little during the reception. But that was held indoors anyway. Beautiful bride and ceremony.
Today it has warmed up after this mornings rain. Just taking it one day at a time until October! :)

Since last Thursday we have been getting slow steady rain almost everyday. The kind of rain that soaks in and doesn't run off. Just the kind of rain we need and now we need more of it to break the drought.

Yesterday I was at my sister's Betty's house visiting with her husband while she and our sister Bobbie went to Mt Pleasant to Bobbie's skin Dr. Her DH is too ill to be left alone for too long so to give Betty a chance to get out of the house I visit with him. Betty lives 30 minutes east of Paris and to get to her house we pass corn fields. They were harvesting it yesterday. Doing their best to get it done before it rained again. Here I was praying for more rain and they were probably praying for it to hold off until they were done.

Sara,
I.m sure the farmers were glad to get rain though. As you say I'm sure they were hoping it would hold off. I pray California will get rain to get the fires out.

Just stepped out to get the mail and it is beautiful outside today. We've had rain for the last 3 nights and today it has cooled it off a bit. Will heat up again but grateful for the breaks in between.

Denise it's the cool breaks in-between that makes the hot times bearable.

Well I am going to be on my way up to the 100 degree weather amongst the the fires tomorrow, I am going for a doctors consultation on my knee, Thursday morning, Please send prayers up for travel, it is a 4 or 5 hour trip to the Carr fire area in Redding. I will get some pictures of the trees when I go.
I live in an area of highest of maybe 70's to 80's, I am going to melt. If you see a water puddle where I should be in a picture that is me.
Have a good day tomorrow,

Love you all!
