Judith, this summer heat is withering!!! Your inside plan sounds like a great idea. You are also very welcome for the postcard , and I am looking forward to hearing your ideas here in the HenHouse!!

We have more, more and more heat through mid week! It was 103 yesterday.
Early mornings and after 7pm are usually ok if we have a nice breeze.

The is heat is working on me and MS fog is heavy this morning so I am staying quiet and making plans in my head on what I will do when it's cool again.

Judith where do you live? If you have only a month of summer temperatures... You are blessed! Our heat begins in June gets hotter in July, REALLY hot in August, then Indian Summer kicks in throughout September into early October. So you can see why we are so tired of summer by now.

Marilyn, I'm in the central valley in California. Summer starts in May and lasts until October. No rain, either. In my dreams I'd move about 50 miles west where it never gets over 90. Unfortunately everyone else wants to live there too so houses and land are too pricey for me.

Well three more days up around 100°, then hopefully, we will drop to the middle 90s.
My son parked his big long trash trailer in our driveway this evening. I requested it. So this week my focus will be to clear out junk from my sewing house and it's large porch, my house that we live in, the yard and the barn/garage.
My point is that I may not be in the Hen house as much...but I will be back!
I know it is hot! I will drink a lot of water and I will quit when it gets too warm.

We have temps back up in the 90s this week. It was nice while it lasted. But Friday we will be back in the 70s so I won't complain. Hard to believe the end of summer is actually in sight for us. I look forward to fall every year but wish it were longer. Lol.

That sounds awesome Denise! When your trees turn red, yellow and orange...would you take some photos and post them for us to see...please! Here in hot Texas we don't have much autumn color.

Sara, that is what I just drank, a glass of water. There is the nicest breeze out side and I'm in partial shade but am covered with sweat. I started out side, cutting branches and bagging up other junk. No more like this year! My poor beans that were planted Thursday are up. Let's hope this batch produces some beans. My pumpkins seem happy with their hats. I put cages around them, then covered the tops with aluminum foil shiny side up to reflect some of the hot sun.
Back to work.

Connie, when our house was roofed, there were several young Hispanic guys working on it. Even the crew chief who brought them out here, then brought them burgers for lunch a bout 2 pm, was Hispanic.
Julie was telling me later that they make up to $1,300 per job. I had made some cookies for them, because I felt bad that they did not stop for lunch. Our roof was free because the man who owns the company, and whom my son deals with needed a sky track to lift those heavy clay tiles up to a big two story house his guys were about to roof. So my son made a trade. Good son!

Marilyn you got a good deal! We re-roofed about ten years ago and our crew was also Hispanic. We have a small house and it was still $2,000.

We have had some rain overnight and early this morning. Hoping it doesn't make it muggy but with the warm weather I'm sure it will. Tomorrow night is supposed to usher in some 70 degree days and a beautiful weekend.

Denise enjoy the cooler weather. Watered this morning and afterwards Annie and I sat on the sideporch. Have to sit out early to be able to enjoy the morning. Cooler weather in forecast for Fri of next week. After that we will be in a cooling down pattern - hot some days - cooler the next.

If I didn't look at a calendar, I wouldn't be able to tell what day of the Summer it was. Same old drenching thunder storms, hot and humid days. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. It is officially August 21 because am looking at the calendar on my computer!! LOL!!

I am wishing for cooler weather. I do not like the heat and humidity we get here in Texas. I only wish we got the beautiful fall colors like in the upper Midwest and northeast. I miss those.

Linda, weather bug says there is hope. Next Wednesday they think we will have a high of 88°with night time temps in the 60s.
Today was miserable, because I had to go out many times throughout the day. Each time I came back inside, I said THANK GOODNESS for AC and ceiling fans!

Yesterday I went on a couple of jobs with JT and the weather in DE was gorgeous. We were near Rehoboth beach and the breeze down there was fantastic. The second job was closer to home and much warmer. Tonight we are supposed to get rain and thunderstorms but they will be bringing the lower temps with them. Should last through Monday.

There is a younger guy who has a weather program on you tube. Direct Weather. He thinks it will be cool in early Sept. Like 10-15° cooler than your normal. This, unfortunately is not for Texas.

We had rain yesterday! So excited! Only the 2nd rain that we've had all summer. It cooled things down and made the air smell so nice. Unfortunately, it's going to heat back up again but it's been a nice break.
