Marilyn I do use row cover on a few things until we start getting really hard frosts. I succession seed my lettuces and my last crop of the season is just about ready. My greenhouse is very tiny-I only use it in the spring to start my plants.

A little rain can straighten a flower stem. A little love can change a life.

I enjoy watching some homesteader videos, those who are in the northern states usually have a small greenhouse and they use row covers. I have never used row cover, but did make a 10' x 20' green house a few years back. I loved it. But one of our major ice storms tore it all to pieces. That was when I saw how tomatoes react when suddenly plunged into below freezing temps after being in 80-85° atmosphere. Instantly flash frozen! So sad.

Sitting at my computer I heard water running and then it dawn on me it was raining. A good soaking rain. Checked weather forecast on computer and zero chance of rain today. I guess we know whose in charge of the weather and it's sure not man.

Beautiful and sunny here today. But we are looking at another 90's day on Wednesday. So I am going to enjoy the days before that hits.

It's only supposed to get up to 73 today. Kind of overcast and hard to believe Wednesday is supposed to be 90.

It's 87 at 1:03 CST but pleasant enough for me to sit on the deck with Annie. It helped I was in the shade of the big oak tree. Fall is slowly coming to my corner of Texas.

Yes! I agree Sara! Next week will hopefully really feel like autumn, if weather bug is correct. Monday 72°, Tuesday 74°, and Wednesday 78°with night time temperatures in The lower 50s. Wow! Bring it on!

We were about 91-92 this afternoon. Tomorrow they say we will be at 62. I might need a long sleeved shirt or a light sweater.
It was so windy today. Blew some pecans out of the trees so I spent a couple of hours looking for pecans. I did not find many. My hands are very stained now From the green hulls. I know I'm not supposed to pick them that way but if I don't grab a few Mr squirrel will take each and every one.
From 1:30 until 4:30 I worked hard inside my house. Now it is almost time to feed chickens. I watered this morning.

True Texas tall tale. It raining during the night but wind was so strong sidewalks and deck are dry this morning. I've seen it happen with black ice too.

Sara, 46 sounds wonderful.
We only made it down to 52 but the high is only 66 today. Looking forward to it. Loving this weather.
I bet Carole is having cool morning temps these days. I miss that about NY. But we will get them here just not till later end of October. October seems to be going by fast for us. We have a lot going on this month.

Sara it was muggy yesterday as the day wore on. The breeze all day was so much autumn! I loved it. Then at 6:30 the warnings began, again at 7:30, 8:30 and 9:00, from the police dept.. At 8:30 we also got the Code Red warning followed by the Code Red phone call. I began to think,'This must be serious!' But I could not hear thunder. Anyway I called my son, who was thankfully in the house, to let him know. Finally the sideways rain began. I'm about to venture out, but it will be cold 40° burr! In fact we had two cold fronts come tnrough. I think the second one has just cleared out. But it is still quite windy.
