Winnie, that sounds like a must read for me. I think my favorite kind of books are memoirs. I love reading people's stories.

Darlene, I have a bunch of those books, I'll send you an email with the titles in case I have some you haven't read, I can send them to you.

Denise, what are Miss Read books?

I just finished wished "The Mercy" by Beverly Lewis, my first time reading Amish fiction. I loved it and have ordered the first two in the series from the library. Julie, thank you so much for sending it to me, I will return it first chance I get.

Miss Read is her pen name. If you Google Fairacre books it will show her books. It is mostly about a school teacher in a little school in Fairacre but she has other books and another series called Thrush Green

While waiting for Ed's dental surgery to be done I finished The Quilters Daughter and it will go on to the next on the list soon. I hope there is a sequel. I thought something would get cleared up that didn't. Lol.

Thanks, Denise. My library has both the Storekeeper's Daughter (Book 1) and The Bishop's Daughter (Book 3) I've now rad book 2 - LOL! Reading the description, the Bishop's Daughter jumps ahead a number of years. I'll check it out when I go next week. I don't know that I want to go back and read Book 1.

Presently reading Big Magic - Creative living Beyond Fear by Elizabeth Gilbert (author of Eat Pray Love which I have not read) and I love it! Just what I needed!

In finding your passion, the questions is not, "what are you passionate about?" But more like "What are you passionate enough about that you are willing to endure the most disagreeable aspect of the work?" That's the part I'm stuck on! Cheers!

Carole, that sounds like an I interesting book. I can really relate to the concept you wrote, especially with music. Sometimes it's like a love/ hate relationship for me.

Darlene, love Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys, too. Did you ever read any of the Cherrie Ames books? They're really nostalgic for me, too.

I just finished reading The Lost Continent by Bill Bryson. It's about a trip he took throughout the country stopping in mostly small towns and small cities. It was very funny, mostly, but also a little sad when you see how much the small town way of life is disappearing in a lot of places.

Happy Day!

Finished reading Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert and loved it!

Presently reading "Awakening the Giant Within" by Tony Robbins. Quite an interesting book! I'm certainly benefiting a lot from it!

The other books I'm reading (I tend to read a few books at the same times) - First things First by Stephen Covey the author of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

And Take Time for your Life by Cheryl Richardson, who is a personal coach. I'm almost done with Cheryl's book and have learned a bit about myself ... always a good thing! Can't change what you don't know!

I recently finished reading The Book of Joy by the Archbishop Desmond Tutu and the Dalia Lama. Two of my favourite people! What a great book. I would highly recommend it. I think in this day and age, we need compassion more than ever.

Now I'm reading Polishing the Mirror by Ram Dass! Another great book on self awareness. Ram Dass has such an interesting life.

So what are you reading?

Right now I am reading True Blend. Very slow moving. It has taken me awhile due to that. Interesting but hoping the authors others are a little faster at moving along.
I just finished one my grandson,he's 10 next week, lent me to read. It's called Word of Mouse. Cute book. The grandchildren love to read. They have their noses in a book constantly it seems. They have one with them no matter where they go. Lol.
Mom makes sure they hit the library once a week.

Darlene, I love kid's books. They are my favourite. I never did get into Nancy Drew. I did read a lot of Agatha Christie novels.

Denise, I loved Word of Mouse! I read that back in December on my way home from Boca Raton. A great book!

As for your slow moving book, you're better than me, I would of tossed it and went on to another book. In December last year I read a couple of non fiction.

The Mistletoe Secret: A Novel (The Mistletoe Collection) by Richard Paul Evans
The Christmas Town by Donna VanLier

I tried getting into Richard Paul Evans latest book The Mistletoe Secret: A Novel (The Mistletoe Collection) but I just couldn't get into it. I loved his last two books.

I am reading Dawn's Prelude by Tracie Peterson. A friend loaned it to me. I find it is going slow for some reason. Then I will read The Mediterranean Caper by Clive Cussler; Ed just finished it. I love Clive Cussler's books - full of adventure and historical information.

Carole, Agatha Christie was a good author, I read them when I get them, but I like watching Poirot on Net flix best. He is a good one. I watched a lot of him up in Washington.
There are so many books out there I really like, I read them when I come across them.

It is wonderful to hear Denise that your grandchildren love to read, there are so many kids that don't or haven't found the book they like to get exited about.

hugs

I finished reading Polishing the Mirror by Ram Dass and yesterday I finished reading Mad Genius by Randy Gage - both great books!

This morning I started reading Presence by Amy Cuddy - so far it is quite enlightening!
