Hi Scattered Prairie Gals!! It is great to be home and I have missed being at our HenHouse on a regular basis. My WiFi situation on the trip was hit or miss and so sometimes I could read and leave a comment and others not. The trip was fantastic and we enjoyed seeing so many beautiful and historic places between Amsterdam and Prague. It was amazing to walk in castles from as early as the 9th Century and gaze inside cathedrals that were full of art and gold. The story of this part of Europe is filled with countless stories of war and fighting for someone else's land. But there are also stories of good Kings and Queens who did good things for their people as well.

The one aspect of travel that I enjoy is that it gives me a chance to realize that our world today is also very similar from country to country. Every city is a blend of the old and the local grocery stores and other modern stores like home depots etc. Plus, many people now speak English because it is part of the high school language requirement. That really helps getting around!!

I have been trying to read up on what has been happening and I see lots of interesting projects, gardens, and stories of trips and family gatherings. Lots has been happening here and it is good to know everyone is humming along! The next few days, I hope to get caught up on life, bills, laundry and the like. It is wonderful to be back home and get back to my MaryJane's Farm family!! I will try and post a few photos as well when I get a chance too.

Welcome back - how did you like Prague? I loved it there - and the castle was a neat place to visit.

Yes, we really enjoyed Prague! We walked through many sections of the city enjoying all of the sites. On the way to Prague, we went through Slovakia and spent some time in the capital, Bratislava. It was beautiful like Prague but smaller.

Welcome home, Winnie! I've been kind of out of circulation myself, but caught a few of your posts during your travels. Two important questions . . . How was the coffee and were there apples??? :)

Happy Day!

Bonnie, Amsterdam is full of wonderful art museums and historic places to visit. All he needs to do is get a guide cook and pick what interests him and then go for it! Everyone speaks English, is friendly, and there is wonderful food to enjoy. The public transportation is super easy and cheap to use so he will be able to get around to anywhere he wants to do. You can purchase day passes for all the transit modes and keep using it over and over as you travel about. Amsterdam is a great place to visit !

Hehehe, Amy, you know me well!! The coffee in Europe is delicious and strong. NO complaints there!! As for apples, all of the apple trees were in bloom in Germany so there will be plenty of apples come harvest time. In the meantime, I enjoyed lots of apple strudel wherever there was a chance and man was it delicious. The Europeans do not make their desserts real sweet like we do here in America so the apple flavor is distinct. Apple Strudel and coffee make a delicious pair and readily available at most bakeries and cafes!!
