We had pancakes. They were good. My starter is sleeping in the refrigerator.

Sourdough bagels are on my baking list this weekend. I took Mrs. Murphey (my starter) out last night to feed it a few days before I bake.

Julie, how do you make your sourdough baked goods taste better. Mine always seem to have too much sour. I even put sugar in.

I make an everything bagel with a variety of spices, I sweeten with a couple of tablespoons of honey. I also do a cinnamon raisin that deters from the sour taste. My favorite sourdough cook Book is "Arrisan Sourdough Made Simple" every recipe I have ever made from it is a keeper.

I cleaned one of my freezers out yesterday and found several large bags of raspberries from last summer. I left them out over night and I am making seedless raspberry jelly today. After I extracted the juice from the berries, I added some suger to the pulp, a liittle apple juice and thickened it with cornstarch and made a huge pan of raspberry crumble bars. Oh my, are they yummy. Good thing my daughter is stopping by this afternoon, the rest of the pan is going home with her. Connie, your pickles look delish.

Tonight we are eating leftovers from the last two night meals. One was spaghetti and meat sauce and the other was pork chops and sliced potatoes cooked in tomato soup. Easy meals.

I get a kitchen break tonight. We have a little bar and gril in our small town nearest to us that is open for take-out lunch and super every day, we have been ordering a take out meal once a week, just trying to help keep his doors open after all of this is over. We always try to support small businesses as much as possible verses the big box stores.

I found tamales in one freezer, refried beans in the other freezer, and leftover rice and mango salsa from last night in the fridge. Mexican tonight.

Judith,
That's the way I love to put together a meal!

That is a good idea to help the small businesses. I am going to look into our little local place and see what they are doing.

It's a cold, windy day today. I have beans and hamhocks in the crockpot and will make cornbread to go with it for lunch.

Yummy posts here from our kitchens! We stopped by a little farm stand this past week and loaded up on fresh veggies and this locally grown watermelon. The melon, however, was GIANT, but oh so very sweet and delicious. I cut it up and filled up my large roasting pan and then filled up a large zip lock bag and gave that to my neighbor who loves watermelon too. We have been eating the melon for two days now and still have a lot. Next melon is going to be MUCH smaller!! LOL!! I mean how much watermelon can one eat in one week without getting tired of it?? I guess I am going to find out!LOL!!

Winnie,
I was just saying to JT today that I am looking forward to our roadside markets being open.
Love watermelon and it's so good for us!

I miss the roadside markets, too. There is one open here in town, but his prices are a bit high.

If you can get some organic produce, save the seed. Then after the seed dry...you can grow some good things.

Pickles look good Connie. We are having patty melts, oven fries in the air fryer and baked beans I put in the crock pot this morning.
