Julie do you think I would enjoy an air fryer? Can you fry things you fix yourself? I don't buy frozen French fries. I guess I could Tho.

You might Marilyn. We very seldom use processed foods, I make pretty much everything from scratch, including French fries. I find it a huge time saver when making supper and if you live in a hot climate it would save you from heating up your kitchen.

Bread raising on the counter. DH requested some stone ground whole wheat with seeds and stuff in it.
I got some carbalose flour and am going to try making chocolate chip cookies with it. I haven't had a chocolate chip cookie (or any other cookies for that matter) since the Diabetes diagnosis.

Debbie -- I hadn't heard of it either until about a month ago when I came across it internet searching lo-carb recipes. Its pricey -- $14 for 3 lbs -- but I thought I'd give it a try as almond flour and coconut flour aren't giving me the results I want. It's a very low carb flour processed from wheat flour. I made the chocolate chip cookies and they are good; not exactly the same as my old hi-carb recipe but definitely quite acceptable. I like crispy cookies and these are more soft but good. Why is it so darn hard to make crispy cookies with out regular flour??

By itself it seems slightly bitter but the cookies tasted good, so I think using it in things with flavor, like savory or chocolatey will work well. I need to do more experimenting as my blood sugar was higher today and I did eat three cookies yesterday. Not sure if that's due to cookies or tacos. I may try making bread with it but for now I'm happy with the Ezekial bread. I used Splenda in the cookies; might try erythritol next. Many variables to consider.

Looks good Connie. I made some almond punch yesterday. It was really good. I only had three six ounce cans of pineapple juice s o I opened and drained a big can of crushed. Then I had enough juice for half a recipe...and I used the pineapple in a big bowl of pink stuff. Had and her dad love it.

Yum, Lemonade from Granny!! I think it will be even better in your darling pitcher from the 1940s!

This afternoon, I made my favorite chocolate chip oatmeal cookies which use the recipe on the Quaker Oats box. They always come out good and I like that they even have a bit of health value to them. Growing up, oatmeal cookies were the first recipe I ever did alone and ever since they have been my favorite. I had the Betty Crocker Boysand Girls Cookbook and when I asked my Mom if could cook alone, she let me make this recipe!

Winnie I love your memory. Connie have you ever used craisins instead of raisins. I love them.

!I also love the Quaker Oats cookies. And I have used craisins - we love craisins. Ed makes Steel Cut Oatmeal and we put them in that, too.

Sherry, those sound good!

I love craisins but have never used them in cookies. Going to have to give them a try.

When I first used craisins in my cookies and chicken salad (yummy) I have never gone back to raisins.

Yesterday at the local grocery store, they had nice ripe pineapples on sale for $1.50 each I picked one up and sliced it today and boy was it sweet and delicious!! Many times, I have had fresh pineapples that were either tasteless or partially rotten inside. Got lucky this time!

I love sweet fresh fruit...we had our first watermelon. It was good, but still not quite as ripe as I like them. I love a good sweet pineapple.

Denise, I made a yellow cake last week for Sunday dinner. Single layer. I used cut up strawberries with some sugar and a large box of strawberry jello mixed with 1 cup of boiling water (from my kuerig coffee maker), and 1 cup of cold water. After the Cake cooled down I poked it full of holes. Then I mixed my strawberry slices with my jello liquid and poured every drop over the cake. Next I spread a carton of cool whip over the top. Next you put it in the refrigerator for a couple of hours of overnight. It is so good.

Ladies, this is a tip I learned from Had. Turn your Kuerig on by the time you get your measuring cup out of the cabinet the water is ready to flow...and I will always mix my jello this way from now on! No collection around the top of the cup of undissolved jello.

She a actually told me to make Hummingbird water using hot keurig water to dissolve the sugar.I

Now I don't have to heat the kitchen up.

I have a pork loin in the oven and will serve it with baked potatoes and broccoli with a cheese sauce. I want to put extra potatoes in the oven so we can have loaded baked potatoes for lunch tomorrow.
