Some of you know that I collect postcards and I have been trying to figure out how to scrapbook them and do it in such a way as not to cover the writing on the back. The only thing I can come up with is to put them in 4x6 photo pockets. Not really the scrap booking I had in mind but I also hate to cover the sweet messages all of you have sent to me. They just make me smile!

Another thought I had was to scan the message side and print them out on vintage-y looking paper and putting them beside the card they are on and then decorating the scrap book. I found a really nice older looking scrapbook that I have in mind to use. It is very big so should hold them and any others I add. I also thought maybe to use those little black corner things that could hold them on and then I could take them out to read them I think.

Any one have any other ideas?

Perhaps you could use double stick tape on the back of each card...Then slip each card onto a clear page protector. Then you could see each side and probably put two of three pin a protector pocket then decorate the outside with stickers etc.
Or if you have a personal laminated you could seal them in the clear plastic sleeve...but you would need to punch holes down one side.

Denise, Wal-Mart sells some clear pocket photo albums for $1. I think they are for 4" x6" photos.
I used them for the kids in the kindergarten class, at the pre school I helped at. The kids were so excited to show their little albums off. I put a photo of each child in the front pocket and a personal note to that child in behind their photo. I don't remember how many pockets they had, but plenty for my purposes.

Denise, I use the pocket photo storage for my postcards so that I can read the backsides of the vintage ones. While not a cute scrapbook, I like the clear photo option to both protect the cards and allow viewing and reading of any messages on the backsides. However, I am not a clever scrapbooker and I do understand how the clear photo pockets are not allowing you to add more details and make the collection all the more enjoyable to view. Let us know when you finally come up with a solution you like and maybe share a page or two from what you did. I would love to see your ideas!

I make and trade ATCs (artist trading cards) and used to keep them in cute little boxes. Looked nice but as the collection grew it just wasn't practical, so I bought a binder at Walmart and ordered online clear plastic pages designed for baseball cards. This works great as I can see both sides of the card and is easier to store and takes up much less space than the little boxes. The pages come in different sizes so there may be one that suits your needs.

I think I may end up with the clear photo pages as it seems to be the easiest way to protect and keep them. Plus I already have some many of the photo pages already. I may just dress up my binder for them!

Thank you Darlene.
Some of my postcards are 4x6 so I will use those photo pockets for them.

I liked both of the ideas that you came up with, Denise. I'm sure that whatever you do, it will look great! Maybe you can share a picture when you are finished?

Denise I found post card collector holders on eBay too, you can get sets of them from cheap to more expensive. Some had 15 in a box to some with fifty sheets.
Just to let you know.

Take care.
