Ireland is a beautiful place and I loved the green landscape dotted with white sheep and the cooler climate. It was a treasured trip!

I loved our short stay in Ireland, even if I did have a cold and feltl miserable. The people I met there were so kind and wonderful. It was close to midnite in Dublin and we were having trouble finding a place to spend the night. I was so miserable and just wanted to curl up on a bench in the train station. An employee there found us a B & B and made sure we got there in one piece. Later on when I felt better we enjoyed Trinity College and the Book of Kells and a lovely evening spent in O'Donoghues pub listening to the music.

Marilyn I love it!!
Judith, I went to Trinity College too. We spent 3 nights in Killarney and 3 nights in Dublin. I liked the countryside better. I feel in love with The Ring of Kerry! Took my breath away standing at the top and looking down and around!
Winnie, Treasure is the perfect word for Ireland!

That is pretty! I have never been to Ireland yet but would love to go. It has such pretty landscape there.

Marilyn, this fabric looks just like the Irish landscape!! Last September when we got to visit, we went to a sheep farm and watched the owner work his dog to round up all the sheep and herd them back to him. Fascinating and all done with whistles, and specific calls. The dogs love , love to herd sheep and it is quite the workout too. I highly recommend anyone taking an opportunity to visit Ireland. It is a beautiful island and the people are very friendly.

Now that it's cooler I can sit on my porch. Looking forward to decorating it for fall.

Definitely looks like Ireland - at least when I was there in July several years ago.

We saw some sheep herding dogs at the state fair last year or the year before. Won't happen this year since they cancelled the fair.

They cancelled all our county fairs. If we even have a state fair, which I doubt, I'm sure they'd cancel it.

I remember that movie. It has one of those songs that goes through my head now and then. Our fairs were all cancelled too. Our state fair used to be the two weeks before Labor Day -- the last big fling before school started. Then they changed it to July and we haven't been since. Too darn hot and not enough shade.

No fairs in Minnesota either. I remember when I was a kid when they closed the fair because of the war and the next year for the polio outbreak. However, the food at the fair is a drive through this year with tickets. 16 vendors.
