Thank you for the birthday wishes.

LOL! So far no plans. Ed usually does something.

I bought myself a birthday present. I got an AccuQuilt GO! Hoping it will help me get my fabric whittled down to useable pieces. There was a sale, and if I don't like it, I should be able to sell it and get my money out of it. I should be able to cut faster with the dies that come with it, and they are the most common dies for quilt patterns. If anyone in this group has one, let me know some things I can do with it. LOL!

Thank you for the birthday cards, Marilyn. I have gotten both of them. I love farm girl mail. I'm getting too old for more birthdays.

I have a quilt guild meeting on Thursday - my birthday - and I have to go because of the swap we are having.

OOh, Debbie - I got the package yesterday. Thank you Thank you Thank you! I love everything! The fabric, powder, embroidered piece, fabrics, and chocolate bars. The colors are all my favorites - thank you so much! Nice thought of freezing the bars before they shipped - glad you put them in a baggie. They didn't melt too much but were VERY soft when they got here. They are basking in the refrigerator cooling down. LOL!

Thank you, Winnie for the birthday card. I love it!

And thank you, Judith, for the birthday card and surprise package of fabric. I love the 6" batik squares. Did you make them yourself with your GO!? I haven't seen packages of squares that size. And I love the blue and gold fabric with butterflies. I have also never seen one of the Cupcake Mix Recipe sheets to sew multiple fabric squares and HSTs all at once. I'll have to try it out and use up some of my scraps. Thank you.

Linda -- I didn't cut them, they came that way. I have a Go baby but always forget about it. I got it mainly to cut pieces for Hunters Star and Storm at Sea. I first used the Cupcake papers last year when my guild used them for a mystery quilt. Fun and easy! Great way to use up scraps.

Sounds good, Judith. I will try those sheets; they sound interesting and easy. Any hints for using them?

I got myself a GO! for my birthday - I need to open it up and see what I can do with it. It came with the dies for (finished size) 2" square, 2" HSTs, 4" square, 4" HSTs, 2" x 4" rectangle, and 2" strips. Those are the basic sizes I use for quilts, so hopefully it might speed cutting them out. And --- because I spent over $325, I got a FREE GO! Me!, and it came with the dies for 3" squares and HSTs. We'll see. Since I got them on sale, if I decide they are not for me, I can sell them and get my money out of them. LOL!

Linda - first helpful hint - DO NOT press your fingers down on the foam covered dies. Super sharp cutters are invisible to the naked eye and will slice your fingers in an instant. No need to ask how I know. Ouch.
Second helpful hint - Put your 6 x 12 ruler in the next room so you don't accidentally pick it up and use it on the cutter. Once again, don't ask. New ruler $22.

I realize I'm a dunce and most people will not have these problems. It really works great for quickly cutting out many pieces, especially the odder-shaped ones like diamonds. I find it a little wasteful with fabric so I don't usually use it for squares and such. It was great for the hunter's star quilt. Enjoy your new toy!

Thanks for the helpful hints. And I won't ask. There are a couple shapes I think about getting - but they are sooooooooo expensive. And I don't know that I'd use them often enough to warrant getting them.

I just went and looked to see what they have now as it's been a couple of years. They have a lot more dies now; mostly for appliqué it seems. I did spy one that our Grace might like :-)

LOL! Yes, I've seen the Flamingo Die, and yes, Grace would love it. I like the Gnome die, but not sure I'd use it enough. My embroidery machine doesn't do the 6x7" frame that is needed, anyway. For some reason, the Gnome, Sunbonnet Sue and Overall Sam die you have to put in the search box. Not sure why they don't show up otehrwise.

WOW! More goodies in the mailbox today. I got a package from Sherry. I LOVE everything in it. Sherry finds the neatest and most unique items.

She sent A Quilter's Journal that I can't wait to fill up - it is perfect! Also in the package was a tiny shopping bag with a single cake mix and frosting kit to make in a mug, a tiny candle, a small kleenex and a small hand sanitizer; a package of Happy Birthday napkins, a notebook, a bar of Lavendar soap, and a cute car and sticker from LovePops. I love it. Thank you, again!

Thank you so much Connie for the card and package. I love everything in it.
Connie sent a vintage tablecloth and 4 napkins, a dresser scarf with strawberries embroidered on it, three fall fat quarters, red and green fat quarters do use for the Apple swap, and Werther's butter scotch. I love them all. And I will use the red and green they go perfectly with what I have planned for the swap. Thank you so much.
