The Apple festival was so much fun today. I found some Christmas or birthday gifts and lots of other "sweet" goodies. The food was outrageously priced so we just had apple cider slushies and they did not disappoint. There were so many people there and lots of booths with all manner of crafts and things. We came home tired but it was a great day. The rain stayed away and the weather was perfect for being outside. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

It was Darlene. The best part was being with the family. JT had to work though.

Marilyn,
Guess what? They weren't selling any! They had caramel apples, apple cider donuts, apple cider, apple butter and apple cider slushies. Even Kettle Korn but no apples. I had bought a bag of autumn crisps to make my apple dessert for Apple pie Sunday.

That's strange that no one had apples to sell.

Glad you had fun at the Apple Festival but it is strange there were no real apples to purchase! I bet apple cider slashes are delicious. What a clever and easy idea.

We had a cooler morning today with a temp around 66 and less humidity. The afternoons, however are soaring into the upper 80s and it is quite hot.

For Apple Pie Sunday, I tried a new recipe from a gifted fall magazine called Apple/Blackberry pie. It was delicious but I still like traditional apple pie better. I found some Apple Pie ice cream at the grocery store and it is good but not spectacular. Real apple pie and plain vanilla ice cream is way better. It is still fun to try new things out and I purchased a small container so no big deal.

That sounds like our local farmers market that had no fruits and veggies for sale.

Are you in northern or Southern Ohio?
Eastern or western? Or are you smack dab in the middle of it all?
I don't think I have your new address. So I don't even know the name of your new town.

I love all the poems about Autumn. I have a collection of Ideals books and the autumn ones are my favorites. I like them all but just love the photos and poems.

I agree with you Denise. I also love the fall photos and poems a lot. Fall is a very inspiring season to many. Those who can express those sentiments with words or photos share with us all that beauty captured in time and space.

I thought I'd share the little decorating I've done. I don't have the porch done yet but will share photos when I do. Here is the fireplace in the library. I think you can enlarge it if you click on it.

Crooked or not, that is one beautiful fireplace. I'm envious, mine is a mid century sheetmetal monstrosity.
