I hope it comes for you soon down in Texas.

I love this beautiful painting of country life. This home, this scene, the clothesline....these are visions so familiar to me. Suddenly, I am back in my childhood days. I can almost feel the soft grass beneath my bare feet and hear the sound of tractor in the distance. I can almost hear my mother singing as she finishes up cooking supper. "Time to eat," she would call out, "so go comb your hair and wash your face and hands." Mama was a firm believer in being clean and presentable at the table.

I could have written this but it is
Shared from a friend. Enjoy!

Denise, I love this iconic old farm scene too!! The big farmhouse and nice red barn just make it idyllic to me. I wish I could spend a year there on that farm to enjoy all of it's seasons.

And just like that, August is taking her leave. She came and stayed for a while. She visited our landscape. She filled our days with the last of summertime fun. But now her luggage is packed. Her train is at the station. We stand waving and calling out as she pulls away….
Goodbye, August. Thanks for the memories.

Denise, I love what you wrote about the last of August to go along with that perfect picture. I wish I had the same sentimentality to what you said, but all I can say, is please hurry up August! We have been melting and now drowning from hurricane Idalia. Maybe September will be better?

"Autumn Lane"

"Walk with me down Autumn Lane
And watch as trees begin to change
They swap their green for red and gold
And never mind as they grow old.

Walk with me down Autumn Lane
As Summer sings her last refrain
And feel both warmth and cool fresh air
As dappled light plays sweetly there.

Walk with me down Autumn Lane
And notice things don't stay the same
As time and nature swiftly move
They come along and change us too."

Shared from a friend.

(Art: "Autumn Lane," by Randy Van Beek)

Our leaves are already starting the very beginning of changing. Autumn goes much to fast for my liking.

I love all the nice pictures and the writings that you've posted Denise. Can't wait to feel the nice cool breezes that will come our way. Today we are supposed to have 105 and the humidity is very high today.
