My hubby and I spent Friday afternoon and Saturday morning moving some plants and clearing a corner of our yard. We were able to separate wood for the fire and pieces that needed to be tossed. It was awesome to get a section cleared of garbage and debris as well as clear another section. We are creating a medicinal and kitchen herb garden in our front yard. :)

Don't you just enjoy it so much more when things get all cleaned up outdoors? I know I do. We still have a bit to do and figure out in the front yard. What stays and what goes. We are growing a few garden things in containers this year. Next year we will plan out a small garden.

I'm busy today pulling together fabrics I need for a class I'm taking tomorrow. One of the quilt guild members is teaching a class on a bargello-style American flag wall hanging. Then we will have our guild meeting. We come with our sewing machines, required fabrics cut into strips, batting, backing fabric, binding fabrics, marking chalk or pencils, and thread. If interested, I can send anyone the directions after the class. This should be a fun class - there will be 30 of us there.

I think I can also make a Texas flag in the same way, just starting with a lot fewer pieces. LOL! We will see.

Some update news for me. My pathology report came back and my lymph nodes are not involved and that is good news! However, one of the margins did not come clear so I am scheduled to head back to surgery on Monday, May 2, to redo that margin. Surgeon says it is a smaller surgery than the first and will not take as long so that is good news. I admit I am not happy about another surgery but it is critical to have all margins clear of any cancer. Other than that, I am doing well and just keeping a low profile and getting out walking to keep my sanity !
