Darlene, I have been wondering the same thing that Denise mentioned. How are you doing with your knee rehab?? I hope life is starting to get along easier and better as you grow stronger.

Hi Denise and Winnie it has been a long long trek this time being a different revision has made it longer and different. The doctor put in longer rebar type rods and it has made it longer rehab and recouping. My knee buckles backwards sometimes so gotta be careful! I am getting ready to get my car on insurance and inspected for smog. So I can get a new license for it and start driving. Believe me I can hardly wait to drive . The gas is only $6.29 here at the moment but I can maybe get out and drive a mile on a gallon! :);)?
Thanks to you all I have had the strength to go through this...
I could use more swaps though hee hee!

Thank you all so much for caring,it means so much?

Love and blessings
Darlene

Darlene, so glad that you are getting stronger and more mobile after your big surgery. I know you will love being able to drive alone if you need to as well. It has been a long and complicated journey from the first surgery attempt to now, but it sounds like each month you are getting around better and learning how to work with the hardware in your leg that they had to install. These things take time but thankfully you have been moving forward!

Yes I am getting stronger but have to be careful because if I step wrong it feels like my knee wants to bend backwards. Weird!
I am good though.
Thanks

We are back on land as of 7:30 this morning and on our way home. Only 329 miles and 4:17 hours left to drive. Woo hoo! I must say these were so far our 3 least favorite cruise ports. Had a good time but glad to be back. Our Cruise Director was super!!!

Our 3 ports were Key West, FL and Freeport and Nassau, Bahamas. There is a lot of construction going on in Nassau, and the walk to town is very long. I think there were 3-4 ships in port at both the Bahamas ports, and it was already crowded. They are adding MORE docking areas in Nassau. That will be way too many ships at once IMHO.

Denise -- So far there has been no improvement and some days they are worse. Still waiting for a different medication to try. I hate to say it but after five months I think I'm starting to give up hope.

Linda -- It seems like paradise is getting too crowded. We're thinking about some of the river cruises. My sisters are on a Mediterranean cruise right now and loving it.

Judith -

We love the Viking river cruises - have done China and Germany on the Danube. We want to do the Grand European that covers both the Danube and the Rhine Rivers - but in the spring or summer. We did the Christmas Markets in Dec. 2019.

Also have been looking at the Mississippi River cruises in the paddlewheel boats. Want to join us?

Judith,
I'm sorry to hear the procedure did not help. I hope that your doctor is looking into possible other avenues to help you.

Hello Everyone,

Doing a bit of catching up. I've been keeping busy with knitting/creating. I've also been crossing the border more often. It's so nice not to have to fork out $150 for a Covid test in order to visit my parents.

This year I decided to do/try container gardening. So I've been working on those. We've had some gorgeous weather, allowing me to work outside and get everything prepped up.

Aside from that not much is happening.

Keep well everyone ... Cheers!

Good news Darlene! So happy to hear about your progress too.!

Carole , it is great to hear what you have been up top as well. Simmer is here in Florida and rapidly inching closer to your area. I hope your container gardening is successful this year too.

Judith, I am sorry to hear that you have continued to have eye problems. I know you are frustrated and anxious for some changes for the better. Prayers for better days ahead.

I am rambling along the breast cancer trail. Surgery part is over and next week I meet the radiation oncologist and the Medical oncologist to learn what the next steps will be. Fingers crosse that no chemo is needed now that all the pathology and testing is complete. Radiation I know will be happening but have no idea of the details. Will keep you posted when I finally learn more next week. Some days , it feels like it takes forever to move forward towards eventual completion of all this testing and treatment. I keep praying for more patience!! LOL!!!

Denise, that is some cool kitchen for 1949! After WWII, there was a huge push to modernize the kitchen and use "Domestic Science" guidelines to make cooking for the family more efficient and easy for women. They really had some great ideas that have not gone out of style in 2022. Thanks for sharing!
