We haven't done a swap here in the henhouse in a long time. I thought it would be fun to do a patriotic theme swap. Send whatever you think your partner would enjoy. Can be handmade or store bought. That way everyone can be included. Maybe include a recipe or two for something easy to make during warm weather days. Picnic meals are always nice. There are lots of things for ideas, anything kitchen or picnic related, things to celebrate the 4th, etc.
Sign ups till June 1st to give everyone a chance to see and sign up if they would like. I'll post partners the 2nd. Mail out no later than June 16th so everyone has time to receive and enjoy their packages.

Any other takers? Would love to get everyone involved. It has been a long time. I think I may edit to include 5 items. Maybe that would help keep postage down. What do you all think?

I really don't think we need a specific number of items and 5 may be too many to keep postage down. Some items take more time to make and/or are larger than other items.

It is too bad more people aren't joining in on henhouse swaps.

So glad you joined in, Karen. When I first joined MJF I participated in a lot of swaps. It's a great way to meet people.

Denise, I'm sorry but I did not join the swap.My pain is horrid.
I had to get some groceries. My hubby drove us there, went inside, then decided to go sit in the car. He has trouble standing for even short periods of time. He was so angry when I finally got out to the car with an over flowing cart. I bowed up and talked back. Then I showed him my list. It just takes time. Plus I was in horrible pain.. But guess what, he said I need to call my order in next time, and just come and pick it up. I then told him I had been talking about wanting to do that for over two years.
So now I will check out the shopping...I've seen the kids who pull or push the blue carts. I've even talked to several of them. Problem...I was just chit chatting...so I did not ask them any important questions.
Back to me...if I could sleep all night long, it would help.
I'm so sorry.

I have not called in a grocery order for pickup yet, Marilyn, but I have friends that repeatedly do that and love it. They say even the fruits and vegetables they put on their list are chosen correctly. You can give some specifications for the veggies. I want to try it sometime - sure would be easier.

Linda, I also think it would be easier and a lot less wear and tear on my OLD body.
Those carts are big and become so heavy.
I only buy groceries once a month.

My daughter does this in the summertime when the kids are home. It is easier to put 4 in the car and pick it up than to take them all in. If they were older maybe. I haven't done it because I like to pick out my own fruit and veggies. But it can be a huge advantage to those who need it.
