Gunnera:
The leaves on this plant/tree/bush are beyond huge. And to find out what is is beyond amazing. Seems ours is unique as our leaves are really big. We can not wait to see the flowers. Thank will keep you posted.

Gunnera is the sole genus of herbaceous flowering plants in the family Gunneraceae, which contains 63 species. Some species have extremely large leaves. Species in the genus are variously native to Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, Papuasia, Hawaii, insular Southeast Asia, Africa and Madagascar.

The stalk like thing in the middle.
One of the largest perennial plants on earth, gunnera is also known as giant rhubarb or dinosaur food. When growing in its ideal environment—part shade and moist to boggy soil that is rich in organic matter—it can form a clump that is 10 feet tall and up to 14 feet wide. Consistently wet soil and moderate climate are key to great gunnera growth. Plant this native of southern Brazil and Colombia near water gardens, rain gardens, ponds, and bogs where soil is always moist.

Wow!!! That is truly impressive! I’ve never seen or heard of one. I hope you post pictures when it starts blooming.

Oh I will post pictures of the flowers, it looks like we may have quite a few. I have looked online and the flowers are real tiny. I would have thought the blossoms would be bigger somewhat like the leaves. Guess we will see.

That is a very cool plant - thanks for sharing the pictures. It's definitely something I haven't seen before. Here in South Texas we are already so hot and dry. It's hard for things to grow. Fingers crossed we'll get some rain soon!

So my big bush is definitely not a rhubarb plant and not edible. So now I know.
It sure was fun going to the nursery yesterday. We bought tomatoe plants, lettuce , oregano, rosemary and lavender. Then a few plants and flowers like Lupine, hens and chicks and a couple more. We had a great time! Hubby and I really enjoy our little outings together.
