Hi everyone :)

During our lockdown (and ever since), I discovered a YouTube channel that really helped and inspired me. I thought I'd share it with you all in case you all were looking for a happy place to escape to.

The Last Homely House is the channel name. Kate is from North Umberland and she's a quilter, a crafter, a gardener, and just a calming presence.

Her beginning videos and all through our lockdown were almost daily diaries of her life. She's grown in popularity and her children are involved now too.

She inspired me to try a Trip Around the World quilt and I just got it back from the quilter - now I just need to get the binding sewn on.

Hope you enjoy!

Laura

I will take a picture of the quilt tomorrow. I'm going over to my sister's to sew some table runners for my son's Eagle Scout ceremony next weekend. Maybe I can get the binding on too!

Here’s my quilt - it is made with a Robert Kaufman Liberty jelly roll. I had it long arm quilted with a Baptist fan pattern. I am so happy with how it turned out.

Kate’s technique for making the TAW blocks with strip sets was a lot of fun to sew and much easier than I imagined.

Happy Saturday!

I love the top AND the quilting! I’ve always wanted to try using the Baptist fan. Good choice!

Thar's beautiful Laura! Love Baptist fan design and the color you chose for the backing. Teal is my favorite color!
