I would love to have at least 2 wildflowers join me in the August newsletter for earning badges. Did you know that you can earn one by cleaning out your cupboard or getting a library card? There are a few that you're probably already doing anyway. Who's with me?????

I will try, I can’t believe the year is half gone already!! Still trying to decide which one to start with.

Well, I too will give it a try. I have done a couple just not turned them in. I will get out my badge book and get it sent in.
Thank you Heather for the challenge.

I will join you…especially if the 5 or 6 that I turned in on Tuesday are “approved” and will count! :)

When you get them approved remember to send me the ones you earned for our newsletter.
Thank you Wildflowers and have fun.

WOO HOO! (doing a little happy dance LOL) Glad to have everyone on board!

Karen - they absolutely count! Unless you get them in time to be listed in this newsletter. Then you'll have to do a couple more LOL! I applied for 2 I'm waiting on also. It's my goal to earn at least one a month.

How long does it usually take to gain approval? :)

How is everyone displaying/using their badges?

It usually doesn’t take that long, depending on how busy they are in the office. I’d say within a couple of weeks?

For me it varies - sometimes I get approved within a day or two and sometimes it's about a week.

So far I'm not displaying my badges LOL! I'm planning on an apron. I LOVE aprons and that way I'll see it and possibly use it. I've heard others talk of jewelry, quilts, and I think someone posted on the main forum about making a frame with chicken wire in the middle and then hanging their badges on it.

I like the apron idea! I have also thought about a banner. This is going to sound weird, but I keep thinking about everything that my kids will have to deal with when I’m gone and they’ll wonder WHAT to do with my badge display!!!

I'm trying to declutter and simplify so I understand! That's why I'm thinking an apron. I liked the chicken wire, but I don't really have a place for it in the house.

I love both the apron and banner ideas! I totally understand about what our kids will do with the things that we leave behind. My girls know that they are free to do what they want with anything my hubby and I leave behind. A lot of the things that I craft/do won’t mean a lot to me but I’ve decided that if I love doing it and it brings me joy, I’m going to do it. Lol. That includes my collections too!! :)

Karen, that’s a good way to look at it! I should adopt that as my new philosophy. One of my friends who has many quilting UFOs said that she is going to leave funny sticky notes on her projects for her daughter….like, “I’m sorry!” And, “I’m so, so sorry!” Haha

I would love to join in - I think #129322; I already moved my merit badge planner to the new house. I will look for it and pick a couple to work on.

Yay!

I will see if I can do this! I would love to get one done. I’ll go grab my book and decide what I want to work on.

Should I be worried if I submitted badges for approval on July 5th and have not heard anything?

They must be busy - I did mine the same time and haven't heard anything either. Only worry if you see on the main forum that MaryJane posts the new badges and yours isn't in there. Since she hasn't posted anything it means they haven't done them yet.

Jami - I signed up for the same reason!!! I've earned some of them but not as many as I thought I would have by now. Which one are you thinking of starting with?

I'm going to look over the garden section since that's where I'm spending a lot of time right now. I'm not sure if I've earned anything in that section yet or not. And also the preserving section - I think there's something about drying canning and freezing. Been doing A LOT of that LOL! If you want an easy one that you don't need much for, somewhere in the kitchen section there's one for organizing your cupboards and matching all those containers and lids. Depending on the size of your kitchen it might take some time but there's no special tools or skills required :)

I love working to earn the badges…it’s like the gold sticky stars for doing what needs to be done! Lol.

The earned badges thread has been quiet since late June…any ideas why?? :)
