Hi :)

At long last here are a few photos from our Norway cruise.

This is Bryggen at night - right next to our hotel. These are old wooden buildings that now house shops, restaurants and bars. There are little walkways between the buildings with more stores tucked in.

Part of our tour included excursions like a trip to Oleana - a knitwear factory. Can you imagine having that view while at work?

We also learned a lot about bunads - the traditional dress from each of the regions in Norway. The little fox is Flam - we bought him for Caroline and he had adventures all through Norway. I'm hoping to make a photo book with a story about our trip.

We had stops in beautiful ports - and learned that houses historically have been painted red and ochre because the paints could be made with plant materials. White paint was expensive so it was a sign of wealth (and some people would paint the visible/front of the house white and the sides and back with red or ochre).

We did get to see the Northern Lights - and they show up much more beautifully through my camera.

The views from the boat were amazing - and I have never seen so much snow,

Here are Jen and I with Flam on our last day of the cruise. We took lots of group photos.

And this is Kate and I with the Trip Around the World quilt I made following her videos. I brought it along on the trip to show it to her.

Hope you enjoyed these :)

Oh Laura, what a wonderful experience, beautiful quilt, and meeting Kate. I love watching Kate’s YT channel. Thank you so much for sharing your adventure. Flam’s storybook sounds exciting, I hope you can share it as well one day.

Laura, that sounds like so much fun! 6 years ago I was able to visit Norway. It's a very beautiful place. So many neat things to learn. We visited Oslo and Alesund. Not too far from Bryggen.

What an amazing trip! Do you happen to have any pictures of the ice hotel you visited?

Thank you, Laura for sharing your pictures. I don’t have a strong desire to travel a lot but I would love to go to Norway. I’m Norwegian (my poor hubby!!) lol. Your quilt is gorgeous! :)

Thanks y'all - oh how I miss Norway already! It's already so hot here and spending my days crafting with others was so fun. Coming back to real life has been quite the adjustment.

Heather - yes my sister took the photos of the ice hotel rooms so they are on her phone. I'll get those posted today for you.
