Hey everyone!

Now that the holidays are behind us, I've been busy starting and completing new projects. As I've mentioned in the January 2015 chat post, my buzz word for 2015 is "FOCUS". So, I'm focusing!

Finished a wool penny rug I started back in 2012 called Pineapple Grove, a pattern by Threads that Bind. Love how it turned out!

Having crossed out a project off my 2012 list, I added a new one on the 2015 list!

Can anyone guess how that one is going to turn out? lol

So what have you all been working on? I enjoy seeing pictures of your projects.

Yours in Fibre,

Carole

Darlene,

Thank you so much! You're so sweet! Thank you!

I enjoy wool work. You do not need to turn the edges under! I just cannot have idle hands, so I'm always working on something when watching a DVD or what not. Usually I have a documentary playing in the back ground and stitch away.

Carole,
Do you make up patterns sometimes for your quilts? I bet they are beautiful when you do.

Hello Everyone,

Darlene, I do not usually create my own patterns. I guess it all depends on whether a pattern of what I would like to make is out there. As for the Ho Ho quilt, I designed the instructions myself.

Did anyone figure out how the quilt in a prior post was going to turn out? The pattern is called My Twisted Heart (by Primitive Gatherings) and here is how the finished quilt looks like!

You use a specialty ruler to re-cut the squares and create a pinwheel effect. Neat isn't it?! The picture is a tad dark and I do not have the quilt with me to take another picture.

What are you all working on? Please share pictures. We all enjoy seeing your creativity!@

Cheers!

I never thought of doing that.

I have used that camera before somehow the picture enlarged.

Not surprising.

Thank you

Hello everyone,

Keeping out of trouble? lol I am! I started a new project.

I have been hankering to make a quilt using only solid fabrics since I went to market last spring. I finally found a quilt to work on - Modern Building Blocks by Moda. Bought the kit and am presently working on the blocks.

Some of the blocks are huge. In my 17 years of quilting, I have never made a 36" blocks. For goodness sake, it's a quilt in itself! lol So here is block 2.

Are any of you on the Facebook Farm Girl Chit Chat? Just asking as I shared block 1 there. Block 2 is the last of the 36" blocks, now onward to 30".

I have decided that it will be my dd's graduation quilt. She doesn't know that yet but loves the quilt!

So what are you working on? Do share!

Catch you later!

Hi gals, We are back from the Caribbean, happy and sad all at the same time. We had a great vacation, but it is always good to be home! Our weather isn't too cold at the moment, but cold is coming this Thursday! My sweet sister and BIL are in Scituate, MA where they are literally buried in snow - up to about 8 feet at the moment. She said she wished I was there to see it, but if I can't get out and about I don't do well. I will settle for photos for now :)! That is my hometown, and I love it there in the Summer and Fall!
Loving all the beautiful projects you are working on, I need to get busy in my sewing room, but I have been doing laundry for two days playing "catch up"!
Hugs, Ruth

Glad your back Ruth, it seemed like you just left. Probably a lot different weather in the Caribbean than up North.

Well take it easy and relax.

I'm in one of my quiet moods, and when that happens, I just want to stitch! For me hand embroidery allows me to not think about anything, thus clearing my mind. I've been working on some dish towels. These are embroidered on Flour sack towels.

It is the first time I stitch on this product. The towels measure 28" x 28" - 100% cotton. Given that the embroidery design is large, these towels are perfect.

I actually calculated the amount of time it takes me to hand embroider a towel and depending on the design, it can be anywhere from 5 to 7 hours per towel. I have hand embroidered towels hanging in the shoppe as pattern samples and someone asked how much were the towels? I figured s/he was referring to the plain ones I have for sale. I mentioned $4.35 and $3.75 each, s/he grabbed 5 hand stitched towels and said, I'll buy these! I politely mentioned that they were samples and not for sale! lol

So what are you working on?

Catch you later!

I'm keeping busy and out of trouble! lol I worked on this little quilt/wall hanging.

It is made with cotton and wool. I enjoy working with hand dyed wool, no edges to turn under. There's a new design for each month. I'm planning on making all of them (I think ) and use as shoppe samples. Presently working on the January one. Will post pictures when completed. They really are all so cute and quick to make (meas 7.5" x 13.5"). There's something about finishing a project that I find so motivating. I always try to get a quick one done in between large projects.

So what are you working on?

Enjoy your day! Cheers!

Hey everyone,

What's you working on? Myself, I did some machine quilting yesterday for a customer. And I completed the hand stitching on this Banner - January.

I need to put eyes and mouths on these cutie pies. Not sure if I should go with buttons or just stitched them out! The pattern has a combination of buttons and stitching. Not sure I have micro buttons. The little guy measures 7.5" x 14.5" finished! I so enjoy working on small projects. Immediate gratification!

Take care!

I think my project for this week is going to be working on a binder to keep myself organized... I haven't done that yet, and LOVE to organize things! I am so inspired by this website - http://www.joyelick.com/2013/11/how-to-organize-fabulous-farmgirl.html to try to beautify one for myself! I also will be helping my 11 yo dd finish up a half apron for a swap she is involved in. I love that she is so enthused about creating gifts, rather than just purchasing!

Anyone else working on anything?

Shannon, thanks for the link. I hadn't see that. Sounds like a wonderful idea. I like the idea that your 11 yr old is involved in an apron swap. That is so sweet!

Tonight I "was" going to work on a new project but ... I've been catching up on e-mails. Kim Diehl (love her style) has many free projects on the Henry Glass website and I wanted to make the Heritage Star quilt: http://tinyurl.com/mpouteu

It is slowly coming up to my bedtime, so I may just continue stitching my last chicken towels!

I did complete a few more, I really like that pattern. All and all there are seven (7) towels.

Keep well everyone! Cheers!
