Yes Shannon, it is natural to feel overwhelmed by it, especially with you being so far along in your pregnancy, my goodness...

I get overwhelmed just with spring cleaning.... Slow down and take time to rest.

BTW, when I am getting ready to move and have reached the point where I don't know what to keep unpacked.... I start by packing all the dishes, glasses and flatware and switch to paper and plastic.

Also start cooking one pot meals. Put the kids in sleeping bags and pack up the bedding. Let them pretend it's a big camp-out.

One towel and wash cloth per person.

It's not too bad, and really cuts down on the stress.

{{{Big Hugs}}}

Thank you ladies! I think God agrees I need to stop and slow down. Heat exhaustion has set in again! And this time it is pretty bad. I go from being dripping sweat to clammy, really nauseous if not vomiting, lightheaded, heart rate is around 110. Soooooo I am done for the night! I have everything packed except some essentials in the kitchen, essentials in our bedroom and the bedroom all six kids are sharing right now, and in the one bathroom that all eight of us are sharing right now! Oh and some of my hubby's stuff in the garage, but he has to go through that! I think the stress of it all is catching up a little! I think the one thing I really need to remember as well, is we are only moving thirty minutes away... I can come back for more stuff, to clean, etc! I really do need to take a chill pill!

Happy 4th of July to all my American Wilflower Girls!! We had a wonderful Canada Day Party on the 1st with about 45 people attending. It was a lot of fun celebrating our country that God has blessed us with - and I wish you all a wonderful day of celebration as well! :)

Judith - we had about 28 adults and 12 children. We had a BBQ of salmon and salads and desserts, and the kids played on the slip'n'slide. It was a great time :) It was also one of my friends' birthday (on Canada Day!!) so I made a big cake for everyone with a maple leaf on it - and cupcakes in red so it looked like the flag.

Shannon, I'm praying for your family and especially little Aly today. Are you home from the hospital or still there.

Remember, deep breaths and push those fluids (for you).

I just noticed how much more time I am spending on the computer. Am I dancing too fast?

I hope you don't mind but I really need to vent right now. We have been attempting to get the motor-home registered since the beginning of June and have been given one hoop after another to jump through by the DMV. (Dept. of Motor Vehicles). Last week they finally gave us a temporary plate to use while we went out to the VIN checked. The VIN check is to confirm the vehicle isn't stolen, since it was bought out-of-state. On the bottom of the form is a selection: Local Police, State Police, DMV and Authorized Location. Below these options is the "checker's" identification space where they enter their name, badge, location etc.
Well, yesterday morning we stopped at the State Police Barrack and one of the troopers complete the VIN check, and completed the form. Nick went to the DMV first thing this morning to complete the process and get our plates for the RV, and guess what..... the state police are not authorized to do the VIN check!!!
So, now DH is on his way to a second authorized location, the first one wasn't available due to the guy being on vacation...
The DMV also will not extend the temporary plate, which expire next week. Nick is leaving for CA on Sunday and will be gone 10 days, so another temporary plate would only expire before he gets back home. So he must spend today trying to find an authorized agent who will do the check today, and before the DMV office closes at 3 o'clock.

UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!

Thanks for letting me vent.

Kathleen, that's so crazy. Did it work out?

Sabrina, I didn't send one either... I will... but I'm having a hard time coming up with a lunch recipe. I really don't use recipes for lunch.

Update: The DMV nightmare. On Friday morning DH was at the DMV an hour before it opened in order to one of the first persons in line when it opened. .... Before coming home to get the motor-home he went on to visit the "authorized" inspection sites. The first one he went to he compared to "not as up to date as the gas station in Mayberry" and the kid who did the inspections was on vacation.

So, on to the next site, about 15 miles from our home. Totally different, neat, clean, professional service. Okay, so DH comes home and gets me and the RV and we're on our way, again.

Got the inspection done, form completed and submitted.... hurrah we think.

On back to the DMV, another 30 miles away... Those people in there tried to tell him everything was still not in order!
When it comes to patience, tact and professionalism, DH wins a prize, but these people really pushed all his buttons.

2 hours later:

After some quick thinking and talking, and check writing, he finally gets handed the new license plates... Great you say...
but wait... Oh Mr. B... you forgot to complete this other form! DH is now seeing red; he took the form and filled it out without leaving the window.

After 2 months and 6 1/2 hours of running around, driving here and there, jumping through hoops, we finally have our motor-home legally registered!
Hip, hip hurrah!

I want to know, who hires these people, and who makes the rules because none of them make any sense.

Thanks for letting me share......

Can only jump on here for a couple minutes... here is the drama saga of the week....

Monday - we moved :) 20 folks from church (including children) came out and helped! and of course the "unstable" neighbor called the cops - she felt we were too close to her property. The cop literally rolled his eyes when he told us why he was called out!

Tuesday - worked a little on the new house trying to get it semi organized and the kids' beds put together

Wednesday - worked on the old house - and a friend came and helped paint a bit

Thursday - worked more on the old house

Friday - worked at the new house while hubby went to the memorial service for his coworker. his car died on the way... and that night when he came back to check on the chickens at a friend's, he found two large dogs eating a couple of the chickens, that the chased him, and in the process, the keys got locked in the car! Long story short, I ended up meeting the neighbors at 2:30 in the morning after I woke them up, to borrow their phone (we have no phone at the new house yet) and I have no keys (he left his in the guy's car that gave him a ride home after the memorial service, so he had mine), to call the Pastor to find my husband, after I woke up to find him still not home! H finally made it home around 4:30 in the morning!

Saturday - worked on the old house - a friend helped paint

Sunday - church and grocery shopping, then last night a very sick 4 yo, and hubby had to go to the hospital to see a coworker who had been in a motorcycle accident and did not get home until 6 this morning!

Today - working on the old house and met with the realtor.

And on top of all of this, someone is going into our back yard through the gate almost every night! We have our speculations, but really just want it to stop!

We still have no phone or internet at the new house, so bear with me - I am keeping up on paper with the gratitude list, and will send out recipes, asap.

Happy Anniversary, Erin and DH! I hope you had a lovely day!

Shannon, Thank you for keeping us up to date. I'm in a silly mood tonight. What if you set a trap for your backyard invader. You could have a bunch of people from your church sneak in to your backyard after dark. Wear dark clothes. NO lights. Wait for the intruder to arrive. Have the "sneakers" converge on the invader in a tight circle and give he/she a group hug. Make sure someone snaps pic of invader. Then all sneakers run away.

Hmmm...on second thought..It would not be nice to give someone a heart attack. Maybe, just hold the group hug while someone calls 911.

Kathleen: Did the VIN # get taken care of?

Thanks, Judith! We went out last week because my mom was here to watch our kids. Tuesday night we just hung out and talked. :)

I'm going out of town this weekend so I won't be back on until probably Monday, possibly Sunday night. I'll catch up on my gratitude posts then. We're almost done with them (at least for beginner level), I can't believe it! How do you girls feel about continuing on together for the next level?

Hello everyone. Life is CRAZY around here. Hubby is gone and I have so many projects. I'm sorry I haven't kept up with the recipes, I have a couple to send but I honestly don't cook anything for lunch, I think other things will be easier for me later. also life in general will hopefully be a bit easier when hubby gets home!

Hi all, Update: The motor-home is finally registered. Right up to the last minute, even while Nick had the plates in his hand, the guy behind the counter decided "Oh wait, you should have completed this form first"...... DH stood there, seething, but he took the form, did not leave the counter, and completed the document.

This summer is just not very good for this year: Wake and funeral this week; then received a certified letter from the town. Apparently one neighbor decided to file a complaint about our rooster and goats! This 20-something guy is hardly ever home, and he didn't even bother to come and speak to us about his issue.

This is the same neighbor who has a new dog every year and always leaves the poor animals outside to bark all day; or locked in the house where it barks all day while the neighbors are gone. It is also the same neighbor who put a portion of their fence over the property line.......

I'm sorry for venting again. These last two weeks have been so stressful and I am not in a very good place right now.
Please forgive me for not contributing to our projects.... I will catch up as soon as I feel better.

thanks for listening.

Hi guys! I FINALLY have internet at the new house - yay! We are still sick, so trying to get the house done is not going well! I am about to try an onion and garlic poultice on my chest and see if that helps.

Sabrina - I so hope things are going better. Having hubby gone is always so hard, especially on the kids, who cannot seem to find the words to express what they are feeling... and I know I too am often more stressed knowing my hubby is gone!

Kathleen - oh what is it about neighbors??? I am so sorry! Praying things get better for you and SOON!
