Ladies, I'm asking you to join me in praying for America, the people of America! Also pray for POTUS, President Trump and his family. Please pray for those in his inner circle.

The next few weeks will be difficult...but we can all help with our prayers!
Thank you!

Joining you in prayer Marilyn!!!

I wanted to give you guys an update on Will... he has traumatic glaucoma. Basically he will be on medications for the rest of his life to keep his pressures down so that he doesn't go blind... If/when the medications stop working, he will have to have surgery. This is a lot for an 11 year old to take in and deal with! Shoot, and to be honest, a lot for us as his parents to deal with as well!

Always thinking about POTUS and the US in general.
Prayers for Will, too, Shannon. Thank you for the update on Will; I had been wondering if they had a diagnosis after all the tests.

Shannon praying for Will. I know how difficult it can be for one so young. It was like that when dd's youndest was diagnosed with diabetes. He was 7 and after awhile said he just wanted to be normal again. He just has a different normal now. It is a lot for a young one to take in when it will be the rest of their lives and they are so young.

So true Denise. At Baylee's wedding I spoke with the lady she was working for at the time. They have two sons. The eldest graduated from Baylor University Law School, in mid May. The day before his graduation, he got the worst news...stage four, inoperable colon cancer. On top of that he had just turned 26 and was no longer insured on his parents policy. Devastating!!! She was teaching, about to retire, but suddenly embroiled in the most stressful situation. They were also trying to build a new Western Store, my son was building it but he needed her to make those decisions that are necessary in the final phase of any build. She told me that at MD Anderson her son had been put on a cocktail of drugs, was tolerating it pretty good...but this was his new normal. If he stopped his drugs he would die!

Prayers for your son, Will, Shannon. It is quite a hard thing to have at such a young age.

Denise, continued prayers for you little grandson with being a diabetic so young.

Marilyn, I hope your daughter's friend's son will have some good months and maybe years left with the drugs. And hopefully those drugs will allow his time to be quality time as they are potent and carry so many serious side effects that make patients feel poorly.

I am asking for prayers for my oldest sister, Sylvia, whose dementia is getting worse. She was the one I helped to pack up and move this past November to be closer to her daughter in Georgia. It is a real blessing that she is there because there have been several incidents or her wandering off the property and getting lost and a bad fall while walking her dog. I called her last night and she sounds like she always has, but cannot recall much of any details of the two events I just mentioned. her short term memory continues to quickly decline. My prayer is that she will last long enough in her semi-independent apartment because she can keep her beloved Lab of 10 years. Her entire day is wrapped up in his being with her and he provides so much attention and love to her. If she could no longer live alone, due to her dementia, she would have to be moved to a unit for memory patients and thus lose her dog. She said again last night she wouldn't know what to do if she didn't have him in her life. It is so very sad. Hubby and I are working on a trip up to see her next week. I need to go while she still remembers me and would enjoy some time together.

Denise -

If you or your daughter need someone to talk to about the Juvenile diabetes, my cousin's daughter has 2 children, a boy and a girl, who were both diagnosed before 2 years old. She is very active in juvenile diabetes programs and is a wealth of knowledge about it. Let me know and I will have her contact you or your daughter. She would know exactly who to talk to in their area. Her kids, a boy and a girl, are very active in sports and other activities now. They both have had a pump from a pretty young age. They are 14 and 9 now, both born on the same day 5 years apart. Her older son does not have diabetes; their father and grandparents have diabetes.

Winnie, the dog is so important to your sister. My DIL's mom does not know who the peop!e are who she lives with or who care for her. The grand daughters are her caregivers and she lives with my son her own daughter and Hadlee. A year ago my husband bought a little dog for Hadlee for Christmas. It is a chi poo, with curly silky white hair. His name is Cash and he is a sweetie. In the beginning he was kenneled when Hadlee was at work or school. No more! I'm fact he has made a new friend...grandma Leorra! At first she tried to hit him when he jumped in her lap, but now he is welcomed, stroked and enjoyed. He has a whole basket of tiny toys, and sometimes Hadlee will leave them so her grandma can reach them..then she will toss them and Cash has fun getting them and bringing them back to her.
I see a tiny problem, in that she appears to be unhappy when we pick HER dog up and play with him. I guess that is part of the dementia. One night she ordered them to get out of HER house and one day she told my son he needed to leave his own office.

Winnie, I will put your sister in my prayers, and it is horrible to lose a dog, for both her and the dog,.
You take care and visit her soon.
Take care

Marilyn -

Hadlee's grandmother sounds a little like my mother and her relationship with dogs. Wen Mom was in and out of the hospital, my DIL at the time (no longer with us) came up to Illinois to stay with my mother for a while. My mother has always disliked dogs - she was a cat person. My DIL inisisted on bringing her dog, and understood that he would be outside on a leash during the day and caged at night so he didn't bother my mother. Within a few days, when the dog came in the house, he would immediately go to my mother's wheelchair and sit right besided her, not making a sound. When my DIL would have to pick my mother up and my mother might make a slight noise, the dog was always there, giving my DIL a stare as if to say "don't hurt her." Soon my mother said the dog could stay in the house. He slept by her bed at night and sat by her wheel chair all day. Needles to say, they bonded.

That is such a sweet story Linda! Thanks for sharing! We can learn a lot from critters! Julie's mom has not communicated at all except to be ugly to the girls...until Cash interveined. My husband went up to their house one evening and she told him all about HER little dog!
