Hay there, Farm Girls!!!

Time is nearing for Thanksgiving here in American. I have joined in on the "NATIONAL TIE ONE ON DAY" fun for the past several years and want to invite ya'll to join me!! You can google it~!!! It takes place on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving on Thursday. We wrap a loaf of bread inside an apron and deliver it to someone that could use a bit of "wrapping up" in love. You can make the apron and bread or purchase them.....that's not what matters. The point is to spread the love. Please go to the NATIONAL TIE ONE ON website and get involved.

Take a photo of your package and post it here on our Chapter page for your Poor House Farm Girls to ewwww and ahhhhh over. And you will feel so good by sharing!!!

Have a great November.

Hugs and prayers,
Daizy - YOUR Mother Hen.

Honestly, I've never made an apron before. Do you guys know of an online source for simple apron patterns?

Hi Kris! If you go to your fabric store, they often have apron templates on the fabric - all you have to do is cut it out and hem it! I find those the easiest and quickest :)

Oh, ya' know what?? I have seen those now that you mention it!! :) Thank you! Have you thought about who you will give yours to? I'm thinking I'll give it to my neighbor. Not that they are broke, but I know things can get tight...

You are welcome! I went to look at Fabricland today for one, but they didn't have one :( I'm going to try a couple of other stores next weekend...or maybe look online. I think I'm going to give mine to my neighbour too - they are an elderly couple in their 70's and they are so kind to us, so I think it would be nice to spread the love this way to them :)

Kris! I found this super cute website : https://www.fabric.com/buy/0334682/hot-cider-30-apron-panel-multi

They have a bunch of aprons for such a good deal - between $7 and $10..and if you live in the states (which sadly I don't) you get free shipping for over $35! I still bought some apron material...along with a Christmas wall panel ;)

I am so glad ya'll are jumping in and doing this. Believe me, the love you send out will come back to you 10 fold.

As for a pattern for making an apron, you can find one from MJ in one of her books. You can print it and then go to the office supply store and they will enlarge it. I will try to find out which book its in and post it. It was in one of her first three books and you may can find it on her site too.

So glad ya'll are joining in on this annual TIE ONE ON event. Be sure to take photos to share and also to put into your binders.

Hugs.

I will be stuck at home again for the next few days so I intend to sew some along with paperwork and cattle records. I have a cute denim apron with bib front that I want to make. I also have a half apron I want to put together to send out with my loaf of bread. I would like to make my own bread this year but I'm scared. I have not baked bread since the 80's when I had a "mother" that you feed and used every few days. It was awesome bread and I would like to find the starter again. I am looking forward to sewing.

Here is my oatmeal bread and apron all ready to be delivered! I also decided to give some apricot almond jam I made this summer. Daizy - I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for encouraging us to do this - I haven't made homemade bread (usually use the breadmaker or buy it) in such a long time - and making the bread this morning made me realize how much I miss it. I plan to give our neighbours some baked goods during the month of December, and I think I'll bake some bread for them too ;)

Hay there,

Last year, lots of you enjoyed the TIE ONE ON DAY with cooking and sewing and visiting and sharing with a friend or stranger or family member. That is soooo wonderful!

Well, here it is ... that time of year again. Will you join me in spreading this same cheer from last year into this year? Will you spread the love to someone else, someone different than last year? Be sure to call last years person and remind them of the opportunity to spread the love from their home....to pass it on! Just a gentle nudge would help. This can go from one to one hundred inspired TIE ONE ON DAY participants very fast!

I have my list planned and most of my baking ingredients in the house. Just waiting to cook!!! I think this year I am going to add a kitchen hand towel with my apron! What will you add?

If you need more information then just google TIE ONE ON DAY and read all about it. Enjoy! Bake, sew, plan a visit, reach out.

Be sure to post your ideas and plans here and photos would be awesome!!! Wouldn't it be cool if each of us did this?

Hey Daizy,
I know everyone has got to be busy for Thanksgiving getting food ready and prepped. I know I am so I went on and made apple butter soda bread(gluten free) for my friend. I got her an apron that is really cute as I have not perfected making them yet. I am posting my photo and I hope you all like it. And I would like to wish all my chapter sisters a very Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
