What with the Olympics in England and the hoopla surrounding, as always, the royal "fam" and, after years of watching the queen parading around never without her trusty handbag....I had to ask myself one question...
What do you think Her Royal Majesty has in her purse?
1. A royal hankie? 2. Double Decker bus token? 3. 1/2 a crown? 4. Newspaper clipping from the "Sun?" 5. Recipe for Bubble and Squeak?
What do you think?
Talk to me ladies....

Posted - Jul 31 2012 : 7:40:35 PM How about an extra pair of support host? The poor dear is always on her feet. An antique hanky with lace trim and stains, Hat pin, Sunglasses in the event she wishes to go cognito.LOL!
I think she needs a new purse. Wonder if she wears aprons? I can see her in a cobbler type apron with flour dusted on her nose as she bakes cookies for the Royal Guards.

Posted - Jul 30 2012 : 10:02:50 AM I had to laugh at this cause it so reminds me of my mother....When she was alive she carried a purse that only ever carried a hanky, red lipstick, a small change purse & a house key.....since we were poor there was very seldom any change in the change purse but she was never without it...why?...cause her generation was trained to always carry a purse....it was a status thing.......it would have been like leaving the house without shoes on back then...a big no-no...& since the Queen is of the same generation I would think she was raised the same way...but I bet her change purse always has a penny or two in it...lol....Michele'

Posted - Jul 29 2012 : 5:58:05 PM Lol!!! I ALWAYS comment on her purse!!! WHY does the queen need a purse??? Not for her driver's license? For ID? She and Sophia on "The Golden Girls" carry their purses in a similar way!

Posted - Jul 29 2012 : 4:30:03 PM I visited London several years ago. My friends ask the guards. No answer. Then one of our ladies put her nose through the fence and yelled, Hey, Queenie. What's in your purse. I swear one of the guards snickered. |

Posted - Jul 29 2012 : 1:29:39 PM What's In The Queen's Handbag: And Other Royal Secrets reveals that though the 81-year-old monarch doesn't carry cash, keys or a passport - since she doesn't own one - her bag is far from empty. Inside are a collection of good luck charms given to her by her children, including miniature dogs, horses and saddles, plus family snaps. The most treasured of which is a photo of Prince Andrew on his safe return from the Falklands in 1982.
Also inside the tote is a make-up case, given to her by Prince Philip as a wedding gift 60 years ago. It also houses an s-shaped metal meat hook which she places on the edge of the dinner table, from which to suspends her handbag, keeping it off the floor.

Posted - Jul 29 2012 : 10:55:42 AM Melody, my apologies. I did not mean to cross the line. After a long day, a long week, high temps here in NC. . . .well, things just have a way of coming out sometimes!
But I was kinda serious when I said handgun. I mean, do you think there might be pepper spray? some sort of tracking device in an emergency? She has been carrying a purse since her coronation- - -makes you wonder.

Posted - Jul 29 2012 : 09:34:19 AM Well of course she would have to have a backup crown in case she lost the one she was wearing. I'm sure she carried some extra PG tea bags (favorite tea brand in England).
