Anyone else working on getting into shape and getting some pounds off? I am down 7 pounds and working on it slowly. Maybe we could encourage one another?

I seem to have hit a plateau. I need something to jump start the weight loss again. Have been doing ok I do need to get more walking in. I upped my water intake which has helped a bit.
Working outside as much as I can while the weather is nice and the warmth bearable.

O, a trouble's a ton or a trouble's an ounce,
Or a trouble is what you make it!
And it isn't the fact that you're hurt that counts,
But only--how did you take it?

Kristina.....with allthe extra garden work I am so tired late night I don't have the energy to chew anything!!

I too am working in the beds and we are expecting rain this afternoon so trying to get as much done as possible before it starts.

I'm getting on the treadmill right after this last batch of zucchini muffins are done. I spent the morning in the flower beds and garden, then came in to do all the dishes, and laundry (which add up my steps fast), then it's back to work, and so forth.

It's noon and I logged about 4,300 steps so far. I still need to lift weights today.

Last night I made a tortilla burrito that is filled with chunks of organic chicken, baked black beans and onions (from dry), then a layer of home canned salsa mixed with organic avocado. Mmmm! Fruit was pineapple.

Today, I need to up my water, fruit and veggies. So I made up a big salad for the week, adding fresh green onions from the garden. Then, I have extra fruits like bananas, apples, and such.

Late night munching is my downfall.

I mowed today with the walk behind mower and it is not self propelled!! So that all has to count for somethiing. Drank all my water and then some. Had home made veggie soup for dinner.

How are the rest of you doing these days?

Thanks Marianne,
Yesterday's steps only got up to about 9,000, even with garden work. I was so tired too. Too tired to walk on the treadmill. I did manage to get crock pot lasagna made, using up some ricotta I had made. It had spinach vs. meat in it too. I did have a healthy breakfast too. I picked fresh asparagus from our garden, then cooked that up with green peppers and onions and eggs. Then had a banana too. I'm just not getting my cardio, and way too tired to do it. I know that planting season will pass, so I am going to try to do at least 10 minutes of treadmill each day to keep the routine.

Kristina, good for you. The fitbit must make you proud of all your movement! Let me give you another big pat on the back. Plus gardening is good for the soul. Keep at it!

I have to carry a fitbit with me now, and yesterday I logged over 12,000 steps with garden work. I was so tired, but felt good I got some exercise.

(The fitbit is part of our health insurance "staywell" program to earn points to keep our insurance with Hubby's work)

Today, I have more gardening to do. I do take a very large mug out with me, filled with ice water. I too, have been trying to keep water in me. When I get busy, I just forget.

Good luck everyone. There are so many reasons to exercise and eat right. I do agree that the accountability of this thread is helpful. I am much more active in the garden now, but I need to do my physical therapy exercises to keep my core strength up. Sigh. I'd rather just garden!

Hi Susan, I have to back in the habit of drinking more water too. I know it is a big help when I am trying to trim down. Need to get out there at the clothesline now that it is nice again. Seems when I think I am going to get a plan life starts to really start hopping and I can't stick to it. Trying to this time though. Maybe we can keep this thread up to date so I am reminded for accountability.

Just found out that I have high cholesterol and have a choice between trying to control it with meds or getting back to losing weight and getting exercise. I HATE meds, many I have taken have given me nasty side effects. I'm hoping there will be an opportunity to encourage each other here. I do know that drinking more water makes a difference for me on the weight loss, so that big on my list. I usually lose some weight each summer with garden work, so that is a plus for this time of year.

I'm back. Our family went through a recent traumatic event, and we are just now getting back to exercise in the garden/yard. I hope to be back to the gym soon, but walked 2 miles the other day.

I have a tri-level and I count the stairs too. Also when I hang clothes on the line I sit the basket on the far end and walk everytime I need clothes and pins.

Getting back on track with my healthy eating. It's always much easier in the summer with all the fresh fruits and veggies available. Need to get back in the groove of walking. Glad that I live in a two story because I do a lot of up and down stairs!

Okay where is everyone? Front and center ladies, we are going for a walk! Or at least we need to!
I am so far off track, I can't even see the track. Eating is going pretty well but can't find time in my life to exercise at all it seems. Show season has started and my etsy shop is booming with weddings, I do a market every friday now as well. Auction on monday and saturday nights. Plus all the chores and regular stuff with garden season rolling in soon. It is a good thing I can count garden and yard work as exercise!!

How about the rest of you?

Back to exercise today - did a ten minute walk. It's a start, since I am not completely well again. Felt like torture, but did it anyway.
