Well fiddles! I just bought a bottle of Tea Tree Oil (TTO)and go figure I dropped the darn thing on the bathroom tile floor...

Well after wiping up the glass and TTO oil with paper towels,,, I noticed the scent permeated through out my bathroom and hall... (had to open the windows)...
But what caught my attention,,, was that the trash can smelled of the TTO and banned the yucky trash odor!

So here is my question,, has anyone used TTO as a deodorizer for their trash can?? and if so,,, did you dilute it or use it full strength?
I am toying with putting TTO on a cotton ball and tossing into the trash can or attaching it to the inside of the trash can...
It certainly couldn't hurt... and I might even test using it in are near the kitty litter pan...
I guess I could go research it on the inter-net... just thought I'd see if anyone here has used it..

I know tea tree oil has lots of uses, however, I've never tried it.
I do have some high quality lavender essential oil I got from a farmgirl who makes it and use it to make room deodorizer fro the bathroom. Just a drop in water in a small spray bottle. It's great!

I use TTO on cotton balls in the trash cans around the house - I also use lemon EO there. I used it in the washing machine to wash diapers when my kids were wee ones also. It's also good in your ear on a cotton ball if you have an earache. It's a great oil!

Don't put the oil directly on fabric, it could stain. make sure you use a carrier such as water. Oil if you a using it on your skin.

so far, both my kitties and newest fur kid doggie don't seem to be bothered with the scent(on my bathroom floor)... but I haven't spritzed it on their bedding yet...

Grace, let me know how the room spritzer/deodorizer works. I'm interested in how it would help with dogs. Wonder if I could use it on their pillow??

Thanx Denise... here it is , 3rd day and both my bathroom floor and trash can still smell good... lol!
I really like the idea of the TTO in my trash pails through out the house...
I think I might mix up a (very) small spritzer bottle of distilled water and TTO and use as a room spritzer/deoderizer...

Tea tree oil is a disinfecting agent. Great for the smells in the trash cans and yes to on a cotton ball works wonders.
