Good morning :)

Just a little venting...I wasn't kidding when i said I had no privacy. This is the lovely view outside one of my bedroom windows, and I don't think the neighbors are 20' away. This piece of equipment was dropped off last night. I keep 'adding acreage' to the house we are going to buy, LOL. One day we'll laugh about all this. Right now, I'm trying to stay positive. I wonder what they will be tearing up today. Sometimes it's hard working from home because it's never quiet. Their last construction project to put in a pool lasted about 8 months. It really never ends with these summer people doing constant construction around here. Or the other neighbors killing trees for a pool.

Does anyone else feel sad when trees are taken down for no good reason? That really bothers me. The neighbors behind me took down a huge tree 2 days ago that had to be at least 60+ feet tall, and it was perfectly healthy. This town is going to look like the city soon enough. out of towner's are literally stripping what's left of the rural character. It's sad.

The view from the back, there was a huge tree next to the green shed, which is my neighbors shed, now there's a big space. The tree was as tall as the two maples, which are in my yard. Notice the in-ground pool they put in last year. For some reason no one believes in fences. I know, live & let live, but I feel so out of place here. This is not the right environment for me to thrive.

Don't mind my messy patio, we're in the middle of cleaning it. I can't wait to move to the mountains.

Dawn that's awful To be forced to move a tree for an inch! That's ridiculous. I give you credit, a HO association? I just couldn't.

The new neighbor told me April 20th. He also informed me that he wants me to remove a tree I planted 4 years ago because it is one inch over on his property! So glad they moved in. Oh well, I will have to call JULIE and then move it a foot over to my side so it won't grow over the years back to their side of the property line. We live in a townhouse and I don't have another option for the offending tree. I love my house and can only hope for the best after this. His wife is very uppity and reminds me of Hyacinth from BBC's "Keeping Up Appearances". On the plus side they are gone a lot and we will do our best to stay on our side of the property line!

Enjoy your Easter Sunday!

I'm sorry you are going through all of this Connie. Home should be a haven and yours is getting disrupted nonstop by outside forces. Very frustrating when you have no say in it. We live in a townhouse and the new neighbors were just approved by the association to put in a huge deck and patio. I'm not looking forward to the noise and most likely invasion of our privacy when it is all done. That being said, I do love my house and try to ignore what goes on around me thanks to the HO association.

Wishing things improve very quickly for you!

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

Barbara, we have 2 beautiful maples in the front, on either side of the driveway, one day my husband and i were standing under them, looking up and admiring them, when i mentioned how beautiful they were. 2 days later the power company came and cut the middle of each tree out 'for the power lines'. I did cry. I couldn't believe it. The two main roads leading out of this town are lined with trees with many missing the middle of them. They've all been butchered for the power lines, and they look horrendous. See the pic I posted of the trees in the backyard? The one on the left, with a cut branch, my neighbor behind us cut our tree without even telling us they were going to do it....for their pool- (even though i understand by law they can if it's on their property). I think it was hanging over their pool. Just a heads up would have been nice. Again, consideration is all I ask.

We look at houses everyday, and are so excited to move. Looking to move off long island, likely to stay in NY, just upstate. I was born in Saratoga but unsure if I want to return there. Haven't narrowed it down yet. I want to stay relatively close to my sons. Initially we considered NC, VA and PA. All I know is that I want lots of trees and mountains, but not too far from stores and doctors. I'm so excited about moving, that it makes tolerating things a bit more bearable, most times anyway. It's so beautiful out today, I'm going to see what I can do outside, noise and all

I understand how you feel about lack of privacy---I lived like that for a few years when I was young. Now my nearest neighbor is one half mile away and it feels GREAT! I know how you feel about trees---I almost cry when somebody destroys a big beautiful tree and it also makes me angry that no one seems to care about nature any more.

I feel for you. We have neighbors behind us but nothing on either side or across the street. Across the street is in the flood plain and can't be built on.

Suburban living is getting harder and harder to have privacy. especially in the newer neighborhoods. We live in the city in an older neighborhood and enjoy lots of big trees. I know how it feels when you can't get a space to feel that is not destined for some huge change like a pool. Hopefully, this new project won't take very long.

I am so sorry Connie! I agree with you on the trees. It so hard seeing them all come down. I hope you can find some peace and quite soon.

I feel so bad for you. Prayers will go up. I am right there with you on trees. We need them all so bad.
