I have been a sister for a few years, but with one thing and another, I’m only just starting on badges. What a wealth of information is here!
I’m originally from the US (grew up in Maryland) but I have lived in Canada for almost 46 years.

Welcome Susan. I hope you are enjoying all these merit badges. Which badge are you working on right now?

Susan -

I have also submitted and received all three levels of a merit badge at the same time; in fact, that is how I usually send them in. It helps to keep the finished requirements for the beginner, intermediate, and expert levels together until you send them in. I also keep copies of the level submissions on my computer for easy reference.

Welcome Cathie from out here in SW Ohio! I look forward to getting to know you.
Cathie, we used to travel to see my brother in the summers when he lived up there. We would go to their place on Rice Lake.
It is so beautiful there. Two of my nieces still live around there in New Castle.

Susan,
I have always tried to do my badges in order but have done some of the higher level just because I am further along in those subjects already. But I do apply for them in order. You can apply for all of them at the same time. Submitting in order is helpful to them I'm sure.

Welcome,
You can work on any badge, in any level order, but
When you apply for the badge, you MUST submit it in order of Beginner, Intermediate then Expert.
One example might be you are working on some quilting projects at the same time and finish an intermediate project.
That is okay, but you cannot apply for the Intermediate until you complete and submit your Beginner quilt project.
You can start to work on another level before Ashley approves and posts your badge in Merit Badge Awardees. Ashley will email you when badges are approved. Hope this helps.
I am working on badge #315 right now.

I printed out the check list of badges at: meritbadges-sisterhood-checklist.pdf This is just a list of possible badges available with space to date and check off the levels you have completed and the date you have applied for the badge. I also keep a binder of the work I have completed. Photos could help here to remind you of what you have done. Also some badges request that you include photos for the application. Just a thought on organization. This is how I have been trying to stay aware of what I have completed and want to complete.

Happy Spring!

Maybe have a place where you can keep notes on what you have done or finished for when the time comes to apply. Good luck with your badges!

I was told that you had to complete the beginner level before the next 2 levels.

My name is Su-Z and I am a totally "baby" farmgirl (at 75 Years old) and I have a question: Is it permissible to log intermediate activities before completing beginner status on a badge? Not to turn it in, but to count it for my records?

WELCOME to MaryJanes sisterhood Cathie!! There IS truly a wealth of information here from so many multi gifted women!! You'll love it I'm sure! Canada is quite beautiful!! I've been several times to visit various cities. Toronto was amazing as we visited during the millennium celebration for continuing ed classes. There were magnificent moose statues painted by incredibly talented artists and I saw Lion King when the live play first came out. Still get goosebumps! My son took us last year to visit Vancouver. Wishing you great success on your badges and sweet friendships while here in the forum!!
