Posted - Sep 01 2021 : 1:06:31 PM You didn't do anything wrong Krista. Weather conditions play a huge part in it. Sounds like it never got enough moisture. We got too much bursting open over half of ours this year. Plus lots of disease from heat and humidity

Posted - Sep 01 2021 : 1:02:38 PM I did taste it and it was a bit on the dry side. It tasted ok but not sweet like a watermelon should taste. These watermelons were supposed to grow to 7 pounds but stopped growing about a month ago. So when I brought this one inside it was only 2 and half pounds. I have 2 more like it still on the vine. I don’t know what I did wrong.

Posted - Aug 31 2021 : 4:40:17 PM My guess would be not enough water OR overripe. Is it mealy? The first time I did watermelons, I picked a couple too early, and then some too late. Yuck. LOL.

Posted - Aug 30 2021 : 3:41:33 PM Hmmm, I wonder if the voids are from too much water or not enough? We grow watermelons every year Krista and right now I'm losing a lot of them due to too much rain, they are busting open left and right! Bad year for our garden. I will ask my gardening friends. Did you taste it? Is it sweet? Moist or on the dry side??
