Hey there! thanks for doing this. I'm excited to meet some like minded folk.
I have a small 27 acre farm in the Pacific Northwest. I raise beef cows. And I have a couple milk cows I steal from.
Was a heavy equipment operator for 18 years building roads all over the world from Afghanistan to Prudhoe bay Alaska.
I don't have any children (my milk cows LOL)
Anyways HELLO! Thanks again. I love reading all the posts.
April

Thank you Krista! Well, until your kids get to hold one, which I hope they do, please tell them that their bellies are like a snake, smooth when you rub them one way but rough going the other direction. Their top sides are scaley, rough, and bumpy. Let me know if you ever buy one and I'll be happy to give you pointers before you make the purchase. They are very curious, docile, and easy to take care of. My husband is a big burly guy and I think he is secretly afraid of ours!

Welcome to the Farm Mindy! It’s so nice to have you join us. That’s cool you have a bearded dragon. My kids would love to hold one. Not sure I would though lol! Your farm sounds wonderful. I hope to see you around the forum and get to know you better!

Hi everyone! I recently joined the sisterhood. Reading about the badges and formed friendships was enough to convience me to join. I live in western NY, about 90 miles south of Buffalo,NY and less than 10 miles north of the PA border. We have 2 kids, 2 cats, 1 dog, and a bearded dragon. I work at an awesome greenhouse and we moved into our newly built house 2 years ago in August, which sits on 6 acres of land. There are about 85 bluebushes and soon will have honeybees added to the mix. My family is a little worried about the bees though. I look forward to visiting the chatrooms and meeting others!

Howdy from Wyoming! I looked up Deer Island. Such a cute little town and not far from the famous St. Helens. I hope you enjoy yourself here at Mary Janes Farm. There is much love and wisdom here. Jump right in and join the fun.

Hi sister farmgirls! I have lived in CA all my life, but have traveled through many other states.
My passions are prepping, genealogy and I love organizing and consolidating things.
We have been married for 41 years, raised six children and adored our numerous pets, (fostered kittens, dogs, outside cats, aquariums of fish, snakes, rats, hamsters...) but now have an empty-nest.
After working at many jobs, most recently numerous positions at a middle/high school, I am retired.

I have been reading MJs book and pouring over other info and the merit badges and really appreciate you having me.

Child---you do kick it for sure---you go girl. You make me feel like a big wimp---but I have lived in southern West Virginia all my life and never gotten beaten up for my liberal views---you have to look mean and glare at people. I learned that in college. Oh well---I digress. You are amazing---and I do agree that animals are like children. I have six dogs and four cats, two donkeys and 2 goats and thirty chickens. I love them all dearly. Hope you will post many posts and tell us of your kickass farm happenings. My hobby farm is named Rock Bottom Farm because we are always broke and it is also a rocky holler bottom. What is the name of your farm?
