Posted - Feb 20 2009 : 1:33:54 PM I want to try this recipe for the apple pie filling but I am confused about one thing....it called for rice or corn starch. Is that just regular corn starch or something special? I have never canned on my own before and I just want to make sure I am using the correct items. thanks

Posted - Feb 26 2009 : 5:25:32 PM i really need to make this. after all i live in the heart of apple country. sounds like this filling would also be good in the middle of fluffy dutch pancake. what size jar do you use to provide enough to fill one pie? cathy

Posted - Feb 24 2009 : 10:32:30 AM Actually, Marcy, you just answered my question! I made this pie filling in the fall and the jars all look like there's quite a lot of sauce, so I've been hesitant to make a pie out of it. I guess I'll try one this weekend! Thank you!

Posted - Feb 20 2009 : 4:36:26 PM Yes, I believe it is just the regular stuff. It helps give it a thicker texture. I made some this last fall and it is so yummy! you will love it.
