In the near future we'll be looking to replace our current, built-in search function with Google's. Until then, you can use Google directly. It's easier and a lot more effective.

Go to www.google.com, and in the search box, type site:maryjanesfarm.org/snitz (you can copy and paste that straight from here), then type a space and the words you wish to search for. Click "Google Search", and there you have it!

So, as an example, if you wanted to search for your favorite "chocolate bonbons" recipe, you'd type "site:maryjanesfarm.org/snitz chocolate bonbon".

When we replace the built-in search function with Google, you won't have to type the extra bit of info to specifically search the chatroom.

Hi Portia,

Can you tell me a little more about the process of what you are doing and at which step you run into a problem? Normally you should be able to click on a person's username which will show you their profile. On the left side you should be able to click on "click to send an email" which will open a new window where you can type your email and hit "send".

You do need to be logged on to look at the profile and send an email to someone. Do you hit "send" and then get an error screen? Any extra information you can provide will be helpful to troubleshooting your problem. If you are unable to email me by clicking on my name to the left you can just paste my email address into your email system. Brianogle@maryjanesfarm.org. You are also welcome to give me a phone call at 888-750-6004. I am typically in the office between 9 and 5 Pacific time.

Thanks,

~Brian

Gabe, I am having trouble emailing people in the swaps---to their personal emails. It says I must be logged in---which I do, but nothing works. I would appreciate it if you could help me.

Thanks,
Portia Troupe

Hey, buzzn bee:

I forwarded your note along. I'm told this is the reason things are as they are now:
We tried a removable label, but, because of the recycled paper, the glue they use for such a label wasn't holding well enough and dozens of subscribers every issue were not receiving their magazine.
As it turned out, some of the removable labels were coming off. Once we switched to the white box, no more complaints about issues not being received.
It obscures a good chunk of the cover, for sure, but it's one more step to ensure that each subscriber gets their issue at all.

I feel like a goober. I've been wishing for ages now for a search feature within the forums, and I still don't see one. Is there something I'm missing? Where is there a search box within the forum?

Thanks for the tip Gabe.

You can take the girl out of Texas, but you can't take the Texas out of the girl.

Gabe,

I sent you and e-mail regarding the label on the front of the
MaryJane Farm magazine. The magazine is so beautiful, the front
mailing label totally ruins the beauty of the front cover. Maybe
the magazine publisher could put on a label that is easily removed.

Unsure where or who to send this request to, so I thought I would
start with you. You always take the time to listen to us Farm Girls,
and so I thought maybe you would know who to pass this information
on to.

Thanks,

Deborah H

Gabe, am I way way behind the times. I just used the google search for several things I had searched for, & it worked perfectly. I guess better late than never, so thank you!

The new search page is now in place.

Please let me know if you have any significant issues with it, so I can make sure to iron out any potential wrinkles.

Why, you're welcome and thank you. The credit is definitely not all mine, so I'll accept it on behalf of everyone here.

Happy to be a "Raggedy Ann" in a Barbie World!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
