I'm an avid reader of anything. Would anyone be interested in having a book swap. It could be a novel, cooking book, craft book. Any type of reading you think is worth while for your farmsisters to read. Let me know who would be interested

I'm game to try a new format or to stick with the old.
Just a further thought: if there were several responses to a particular book, the swap on that book could continue down the list. Again, maybe a little more complicated, but doable.

OK, I'm ready-Let's go.

Maybe who ever response to the post first gets that particular book, then that is fair. That is how it is done on Barters and it seems to work pretty well. Just a suggestion.
Hugs,
Debbie

I would say that if a title is posted that more than one person wants, it would be first come first served. For me, if no one posts a title that I want, I am ok to wait or just to send a book. I have sooo many. It is also just very hard to guess someone's tastes when they just won't give you a clear idea of what they like, and the chances of duplicating what they have already read are so high. For me, to have another unresponsive partner....well I just can't do that again...I get so frustrated seeing so many lovely farmgirls getting burned...it's just not okay!

I think the idea of posting a book title is interesting but what if several people want it? And what if no one posts something that you want. It could get a lot trickier than just mailing a book to someone. I am willing to take a chance on another partner to send to.

With lots of hugs and smiles, have a great day.

Hey gals, everyone who participated in my last book swap I only want a reply from...I would like to have a vote on how many think we should stick with the original format of the swap or switch up and go with Debbie and Tammy's great idea also. Just post here so we can all read them. Thanks again for your support in this swap!!!!

Have been gone for a week seeing gk's and then had company for five days and I'm just now getting to reading everything I've missed here. I cannot believe that some farm girls still haven't written a thank you on this thread or sent the person a note to say thank you for their books. But I've read about this happening on so many other swaps as well. Just isn't right, but don't know what you can say to make them understand the "courtesy" rules of swaps. I mean it's even written down somewhere. I just feel so bad for the girls who didn't get books and would also like to help out anyone who didn't receive a book.
Also want to participate in the next one - whichever way it's done. The last one was so much fun.

You would think, Shelly, that your partner would have the courtesy to let you know that they received their package....I had delivery confirmation, but still never heard from my partner that she received it. Only know because of the confirmation. It's people like that who make us not want to swap anymore...sad but true!

No I haven't been doing the delivery confirmations because I figured they would at least post and say thanks or post that they never received it! I guess I could start doing it just so I at least know the package was delivered! I can't fix it if I don't know something went wrong.

Awww Shelly, that's why I think I'm going to change the way this swap went. It's really ashame that she didn't respond at all!

Yes, and that way Joan, you would not have to be responsible for everything....it is a lot of work!

you both have very good suggestions. I do like the idea of posting novels/cook books etc instead of partners. Maybe more farmgirls will want to get involved with it. Good job Tammy and Debbie... Love it!

Yes, we would have to think about this to make it all come together. Joan you would not necessarily have to post partners if we post books instead. Guess then it would be more of a book to book barter than a swap. Ummmmm!
Hugs,
Debbie

Joan, I will try to come up with some thoughts as to how this could work. I know I would love to say that I just read the brand new book by __________ would anyone be interested in reading it. There would be no duplicate books and only people who are truly interested would swap with you. Also, that person would probably have similar reading taste to yours.

Hi Tammy and Debbie, that sounds like a great idea...so let's put our heads together to figure out how this will work. I would still have to post partners. Um so we would email our partner with the names of the books we would like to swap and see if they be interested?

This could work and then we would be assured that everyone who is interested gets a book.
Hugs,
Debbie

Joan, I've been thinking about this swap and wonder what you think of this idea: Maybe we could actually post a particular book that we have just finished reading, or have to give away....give the name, author, a little info and see who would be interested. This way the person could even look up the title on Amazon to see if they were interested. It would also eliminate duplicating books, and the recipient would be getting something she wants to read.

Not sure how this would work, but I know I would like to give a book to someone who actually really wants to read it! I did get books from my swap partner, but never heard that she received mine (although I did get delivery confirmation).

Just a thought!

Hugs, Tammy

I'd like to be included in another book swap. I had no problems with my swap.
Thanks!

Okay...Let me see what swaps are being held in May and when they end. I don't want to overwhelm everyone with too many swaps lol...Many that's the reason people don't follow through. They have too much on their plate ..Will let you ladies know on Monday when the next novel swap takes place :)

Yes, I think we should give it another try as there were so many who gave but did not receive their part of the swap.

Debbie

Hey Debbie - I am still reading book #3 from the swap, but thank you for asking :)
Just wondering when we should hold our next novel swap? Should we give it another shot ladies?
